A recap of the day...

It was a good birthday. I spent the day with family and couldn't have asked for anything else.

We started our morning by making doughnuts. Reyna loved them!

I could have eaten the entire plate, but managed to limit my intake.

I gave this little lady a bath. That is a yawn. It was close to nap time.

We gave Reyna a nap at home. While she napped, so did we. I must have been tired because I zonked out on the couch, which never happens.

I had Emilie take a belly shot pic....I keep forgetting I don't see my Florida family that often and they have been asking me to post one. Here it is. All 30+ pounds! :)

My mom prepared one of my fave summertime dishes...chicken,steak and veggie kabobs. Did I mention that they were delicious?!

Yikes, please disregard my double chin! I took this while my dad was grilling dinner. Reyna played in her pool and screamed when we made her dry off for dinner....

I admired my swollen preggo feet.

Reyna watched the Laura Berkner band special on Noggin. She had her blankey around her neck while she danced. It was too cute.
We enjoyed a homemade chocolate cake made by my grandma. It was tasty. Afterwards, I opened cards. :)
It was just a really good day.

Reyna received mail

Reyna received mail yesterday from Auntie Em! She was pretty excited that not only was there a card, but there were Dora stickers, too.

While I cooked dinner, Reyna peeled (all) the stickers and put them on paper. After putting them on paper, she wanted to color around the stickers.

It kept her busy for quite a while.

She must have been in a crafty mood because after that, she decided that

she wanted to paint.

Thank you, Aunt Em! Cannot wait to see you this weekend. xoxo

Just a little glimpse,

of what's been going on. I am worlds worst blogger. :)

Isn't she getting so big?! Jade frequently says that he wishes we could just freeze time. She is perfect just the way she is. She's cute, funny, loves learning new things and is full of life. I am having a hard time grasping the fact that Reyna will be the big sister in just 6 short weeks. Don't get me wrong, I am so excited to make this transition, but it's scary too. Make sense? I am hoping that I am not the only mama who has ever felt this way with adding another little one to the mix.

I feel extremely blessed that Jade's parents have a summer home just a couple short miles away from Lake Michigan. Ludington is gorgeous and it's nice knowing we always have a free place to stay. Reyna loves the sand. I remember the first time we took her to the beach when she was 7 months. That time, she wasn't too happy with the sand. Now, good luck getting her back to the van. You have to bribe her to leave. When she isn't digging in the sand, she enjoy's chasing the seagulls. Daddy has taught her to call them dumpster ducks instead of their true name, which makes it even more comical. When she starts to chase them, we always wonder when she is going to look back to see how far away from us she has ventured. She is so independant. I do love that about her.

I know I have said this before, but I am going to make a better attempt at blogging. Time is going by way too fast not to journal about these moments that are passing us by.

Flashback Friday.

How did she get so big, so fast? This feels like forever ago....

Baby stuff, washers and everything in between

Once again, haven't blogged in FOREVER! It's only 8 and I could fall asleep right here at the computer desk. I would, if I didn't hear the lovely sound of a knocking coming from Reyna's room. I put her to bed @ 7 and she is still awake. She's exhausted, but fighting it. Most of the evening, she has not been herself. I don't think I have ever heard her whine so much in my entire career of mommyhood. This isn't something I care to deal with everyday either. Her molars are coming thru, so there is her valid excuse, I guess.

  • It has been a screwy week. Today, Jade was off during the day (is working tonight) and I had today off, too. It felt weird running errands during the day and just hanging out at home for the rest. When I am out and about, I always see couples together during the day and wonder why they aren't at work. We were that couple today. It was kind of nice. Everything went well at the doctor. The stats are too depressing to type twice, so if you are interested, head on over to our baby blog!
  • I am extremely looking forward to next weekend. Not this upcoming, but the following. Jade and I are going on a date! We are seriously overdue for this. It has been a while since we went out and I cannot wait to sleep in the morning. Briarwood will also be on our list of stops, as well. :)
  • I am starting to feel slightly ready for this baby to come. Today, we stopped and purchased this beast of a machine. The best part? Our insurance covered it. I guess it pays to ask. I have also restocked our supply of baby washcloths, baby bottles and I am stopping @ Toy House tomorrow for a few things we need to replace. Oh, and I stopped @ Kohl's yesterday with my 30% coupon in hand and I couldn't pass up a couple of outfits for baby. I bought two boy and two girl. I am pretty sure two out of the four will be joining us at the hospital to be used as our take home outfits. They are simple, yet cute. I still need to clean out Reyna's closet, do a little organizing and some shuffling around and haul down our carseat and a few other baby items to make everything "official."
  • Still listening to Reyna knock on her door..Go to sleep little one!
  • We camped last weekend....I have a few pic's and many stories, but I'll save that for another post that you will probably see next year sometime. Just kidding. Maybe. :)
  • What kind of washer/dryer brand do you have? Two nights ago, our washer decided to take a crap on us. Did I mention it is only 5 years old? The service man came out today only to report that it is going to be a whopping 300 bucks to fix! They don't make stuff like they used to, do they? I guess 5 is the new 30. Anyway. I would love to hear what brand you have and if you like it or not.

There you have it. That pretty much sums up what's been going on.

Retail therapy, maybe?

When I was pregnant with Reyna, I was prepared. Well, as prepared as you can get for labor anyway. We had her crib, dresser, bookshelf and bedding purchased before we even had her ultrasound. Looking back, it was jumping the gun and a little too prepared, but whatever.

When we had our ultrasound and found out we were having a little lady, I shopped. Then I shopped and shopped more. I mean come on, Reyna couldn't come home from the hospital without her drawers stocked to the hilt! Not really, but looking back, buying and "stocking up" made me feel prepared for having a baby. I think. That's the conclusion I am coming to anyway.

Lately, I have been feeling a little panicked like, "oh my gosh, we are having a baby and I haven't done a damn thing to prepare!"

I feel like I need to do something to put my mind at ease and the only thing that comes to mind is to go shopping. But for what?! We don't need anything. I am planning on picking up a couple of random items that are looking a little worn and tattered, but I don't want to until we find out if we are having a little man or a little lady. I guess I could go with something gender neutral, but what fun is that? :) Just kidding.

In the next couple of weeks to come, I will make a Target run and stock up on those ever-so-soft swaddlers that I secretly wish came in my size. I will buy a package of newborn size paci's, not because we need them, but they will put my mind a little more at ease.

And really I do have a good hubs. We were @ Target last Saturday and while cruisin' thru the baby dept. I started to panic. He laughed it off and told me that he will be waiting for his list when the baby arrives and wherever I need him to go pick up baby items, I just need to tell him where.

Weekend

I am up and it's really early. I needed to get a few things done around the house and I just like having some time to myself in the morning before Reyna wakes up.

Besides chasing after a toddler, feeling very pregnant and work, there isn't really much to talk about that wouldn't bore you to tears. There are some changes going on at work and I don't really want to go into detail yet, but I think it's going to be a good thing. I will elaborate more at a later time when everything has been hashed out and set in stone.

I will say this, we had an awesome day yesterday. I didn't take pictures and I should have, but it was just a really good day. Jade golfed really early and was home before lunch. We fixed lunch and Jade and Reyna snuggled

in our room for an afternoon siesta. I opted out of the nap for a little quiet time to myself. I caught up on Real Housewives, ran to the local market and just chilled. Oh and made potato salad. After they woke up, we all headed outside. I planted all of my annuals, Reyna played on her climber and splashed in her water table, while Jade started weeding out the garden so we can plant it. The icecream man drove by and of course Reyna heard him. I let her pick out whatever she wanted, which was a sno-cone. Can we say messy! Thank God for play clothes and baths. I bet it took her almost an hour to eat it. She enjoyed every bite of that thing. After dinner, we cleaned up, played, took baths and it was bedtime. It was just a really good day.
