Flip Fest 2013

 

Reyna has grown so much this year in so many ways. I will never forget her Christmas program in preschool where she stood on the stage, didn't sing a single song and was on the verge of tears the entire time. That was the complete opposite at Flip Fest. Reyna has turned into an outgoing little girl. We walked into Western HS that morning and she ran off with friends immediately. Her performance was adorable. She smiled the entire time acting like a little ham.

• Believe it or not, the girls actually get along BETTER when Reyna is out of school. When Reyna is in school and comes home, Ruby wants Reyna's undivided attention and Reyna is tired. Which in turn, annoys Reyna and then comes the fighting. Since Reyna has been home, my house is spotless, the girls play, we get a lot of stuff accomplished. It is awesome. I wish everyday was like this.
• Jade and I are going out on Saturday and I have no clue when we are coming home. I am soooo excited. First stop? Cabela's! haha. He is in the market for some Croc flops, river shoes (think Tevas or Keen). Also, there are a few other goodies that we need to look for. Jade has a gift card and his points have been building and building. After we leaving Bella's, Partridge Creek is our next stop. My all time fave cooking store is there. Unfortunately, that is the closest one for us, but I just found out, there is one opening in AA in August. After the mall, we are heading to AA for dinner, REI (Jade has a gift card) and the mall. Whew. I am so excited for our outing....we need it!!!!
• This year, we were pretty adamant that we were not going to plant a garden. I decided on a few herbs, but lack of time was preventing us from doing the rest. After deciding to purchase a new rototiller, our garden has been planted. We both agreed that we would have regretted NOT planting.
• The girls are so excited for four nights of camping at the state park in Ludington with three other families. I cannot wait to hang out with good friends, eat good food and watch our children have a blast. :)
• I found this article to be very interesting. I have started taking a supplement.
• There isn't a whole lot schedule this Summer and I love it that way. We have a few things here and here, but that's it! Relax, relax, relax....

If I had one wish today, it would be that we had you here to celebrate your day. Just one more day here. Wish us. It doesn't sound like too much to ask. I miss you today. A lot.

Ruby loves her boots. She is also into wearing tights right now. She gets this from her big sis, of course. On Monday, she wore her boots. When I asked where she got them...

A day late, but oh well.

Monday: Burgers (Reyna request) with steamed brocoli and cantaloupe

Tuesday: Crockpot shredded chicken tacos and my Aunt Gails recipe for Puerto Rican rice with pink beans...yum yum!!

Wednesday: A Pinterest meal, which I am so excited about. Salad and homemade garlic toast.

Thursday: Leftovers

Friday: Nachos with the leftover shredded chicken from Tuesday



On Sunday, we tried this recipe that we found on Pinterest and Yum it was so delicious!!!
