Dear Ruby-Month 3

Dear Ruby,

How is it possible that you have been with us for three months now? I was looking thru your birth pictures earlier because I needed to remember how little you were. It makes me sad to know that you aren't ever going to be this little again. More than likely you are our last baby, so I just want to savor every moment and every stage.

You are still a very calm and mild mannered little babe. You rarely cry unless, you have a tummy ache or are extremely tired. This month, you started sleeping thru the night. I don't mean a five or six hour stretch, I mean 7-7 or 8-8. How did you know that mama just needed you to start sleeping longer? Moving on to why you are sleeping thru the night...you found your thumb this month. You will still take your sucky, but will spit it out and find your little thumb. I think it's adorable.

It's amazing how much you are looking around, checking out your surroundings and listening to voices. You also started laughing this month. You love to watch Reyna and smile when you hear her voice. And how is it in just one short month, you are reaching for toys, cooing all the time and holding your little head up like you have been doing it forever?

This month, you took your first little road trip with Nana and I to Cadillac for a babyshower. Did I mention you slept the entire way there and back? And, you were probably the most well behaved guest at the shower. I was so proud of you.

I love you, Ruby Elizabeth.

A little randomness with some bullet points on the side for you, today.

It's Thursday and all your getting from me is bullet point randomness.
  • We stayed at my parents last night. I was thanking my lucky stars this morning that they both slept really well. I had my doubts on Ruby since that was her first sleepover, but she did well.
  • I am staring out my window at work right now and it is depressing me. It's dreary, rainy and cold. Um, yuck. I need to move.
  • I have started Christmas shopping. I refuse to shop last minute this year. So far, I have stuff for the girls. But, the rest of my list is made now all I need to do is shop. I also refuse to cram it all in on one day. I want to do a little here and there and actually enjoy myself. Did I just say that? Is that truly possible this time of year? I don't think so.
  • I was laying in bed the other night dreading decorating the house for Christmas. Is that horrible? I don't even feel like taking the time to put up a tree. I hear the word tree and the words hassle and mess come to my mind. I am such a grinch.
  • Things have gone pretty smooth since hubby has been gone. I miss him terribly, but have enjoyed Sex & the City reruns, card making and surfing the net in silence after the girls go to bed.
  • The other day, Ruby was under her play gym thingy with Reyna while I was getting ready for work. All of a sudden Reyna yells, "mama, Ruby is kicking me." Then it was, "mama, Ruby is hitting me." I couldn't even take her serious. I was cracking up at her while trying to apply mascara.
  • I am listening to Pandora. Kenny Chesney's new song with Dave Matthews is on. Kenny's voice is soo hawt!

There you have it. Enjoy your day.

Everyday.

Every day should include: a good cup of coffee, little ladies who love wearing mama's shoes, adorable little baby smiles and coos, spending time with family, babies who sport little camoflouge booties for daddy and snuggly little babes.

Hello Monday.

I miss Jade.

There. I said it.

He left last night for the UP ((way past any civilization)) and for some reason, I had this lump in my throat when he was leaving. I think it would have been different if he would have left morning or daytime, but it was bedtime and I was tired and he was leaving. I am fine today. I think.

I truly am looking forward to this week. I have lots to do to keep busy. I need to clean out our linen closet and front closet, recycle all of our magazines. And then there's scrapbooking. On top of that, the girls will surely keep me busy. :)
Did I mention that Jade's alarm didn't go off at the crack of dawn this morning? That was a bonus. I slept until almost 8. It was heaven. Reyna climbed into bed with me and fell back asleep. The phone woke me up...it was Jade to let me know he had almost reached his destination.
Anyway.
So, I need opinions....Do you like these shoes? I cannot believe what a steal they are. Plus, I need brown dress shoes. What do you think?

Olive Garden

Jade & I enjoyed an evening out sans the girls. We enjoyed good food and wine and an actual adult conversation during dinner. I need to start remembering to schedule more date nights. At least once a month.

How often do you and your hubby/spouse schedule date night?

Once again, I am definitely lacking content tonight. I am tired and ready for bed. I might get a little ambitious and post some pic's tomorrow. :)

Night.
