Friday went like this.
The girls & I slept in this morning (thank goodness), which was nice because I stayed up way too late last night watching a movie.
I brewed myself coffee and made the girls raspberry smoothies for breakfast and then we got ready and met Nana at Target. The girls were soooo happy to see her. After Target, we headed downtown and had Mexican for lunch. My mom and I may or may not have had marg's with our lunch. :)))))) Our last stop was the grocery store, which went pretty smooth, as well. The girls were definitely ready to get home though.
Anyway, that was our day. Reyna has soccer in the morning and I am hoping to get a few pictures of her on the field.

The Tree House
As you can see, the girls had a blast @ The Tree House last week. ((Gran, this video is totally FOR you xoxo)). :) I love when we can meet up with Aunt Kristin and her mom. It usually works like that where our mamas can go too and catch up, as well.
Do you LOVE Reyna's headband??? It was a "must have" according to Miss Thing. I choose not to argue over her fashion statements anymore. It is just not worth it.
This was that first time we went and Ruby just went off and played the entire time. She climbed, went down the slides and played, played, played.
And this is what the slide scenario was. Reyna on her bottom the way they are supposed to be and my little rebel who chooses not to listen. I couldn't resist sharing this picture.
Of course, the girls always love their time with Aunt Kristin, but so do I. :)

Random-ness
2.What kind of music do you listen to when your kiddos are in the car w/ you? Do you listen to what you would normally jam to or do you listen to kiddo music? I am very interested to know.
3.This weekend is full of halloween fun. I don't think we have ever had so much going on geared towards halloween. Kid friendly parties with friends, a carnival where Jade's grandma lives and on Monday, Reyna is having a halloween party at school. I am looking forward to helping out with that.
4.Jade went hunting tonight. I was kind of bumming until I remembered we were out of coffee and he had to pass Starbucks on his way home. I told him (nicely) not to come home empty handed.
5.Looking forward to my moms group tomorrow. We are decorating pumpkin shaped cookies with the kids. The ladies I get together with are so nice and I look forward to seeing them each time we get together.
6.My friend, Michelle, is teaching me to knit. The plan is to make lots and lots of cute winter accessories for R&R.
7.Ruby is feeling great, but I had Reyna at the doctor yesterday for strep. Hello 10 amoxicillin. Bleh!
8.Making these tomorrow afternoon with Reyna. I have been craving cupcakes.
9.I want a white watch. Love this one.
10.How is that for a little random-ness? :) My coffee has arrived.

Killing my brain cells
Jade signed up for this magazine thing where you get a really good deal...not really sure how it works, but anyway....He picked all outdoor mags..I was a little uhm, bummed? He said I could call and switched, but that sounded like work.
They sent a letter saying that we were getting a bonus magazine for signing up. I was pretty geeked when it said US Weekly.
Sweet. I admit, I am a sucker for celeb gossip and all those shows that probably kill off your brain cells.
When I told Jade we were getting US Weekly, he was like, "No Les, isn't that a weekly news magazine?"
Anyway, the mail came yesterday and I was thrilled to see our magazine subscription started! I was thrilled to see I will now get a weekly dose of celeb gossip waiting for me in our box.
Was Jade excited? If I put it in the bathroom, I don't think that he would ignore it. :)
I love him and all of our different tastes, too. :)

So typical
What is typical?
- Reyna in some sort of dress
- Ruby decked out in jewelry
- Taylor Swift playing in the background when this picture was captured
- The girls watching out the window for daddy to come home from work.
- Reyna helping Ruby put on more "pretties."

The man of the house.
This has been the man of my house since Thursday night. Isn't he a handsome, thing? For the most part, things went pretty well while Jade was gone, but the girls do have a cough going on. Last night, we stayed @ my parents and Ruby was awake off and on most of the night. I might have had 3 hours of sleep? Needless to say, the girls were ready to have daddy home and I was ready to have my hubs home.

Friday Night Leftovers-"No you are not drinking coffee @ five years old" edition.
- The girls & I went to a friends house today for a playdate. Her family owns a huge dairy farm in the area. The girls? Yep, they were in heaven. All day, Reyna has asked, "when are we going back to Mamanda's(Amandas) house??"
- I finished, "Water for Elephants". LOVED. If you are looking for a good read, I recommend it. Next week, I am going to watch the movie with my grandma.
- I just found out that Gymboree has a new fall line coming out Monday with Pug's! I cannot pass this up. Bobo will be excited about it, too!!! hehe. :)
- There was a frog in my house yesterday. Loose. Guess who was behind this crazy chaos? Uhm hmmm.
- Do your kids have chores that they do on a regular basis? Just curious....
- Jade brought me flowers yesterday & cooked dinner. He is a saint.
- I am still trying to figure out how to get out of bed early to get Reyna to school on time. I swear, I blame my laziness on the Pug. She is sooo lazy. I wanted to get up early this morning and the only thing that woke me was the smell of sausage cooking. It was like the sight out of a movie. I followed the smells of sausage and coffee to the kitchen.
- I want a new wardrobe. Is that too much to ask???
- "Mama, when I turn five, do I get to drink coffee like you??" -Reyna

Friday Night Leftovers.
My.children.are.both.sleeping......Heaven. Reyna rarely naps, so this is just a little slice of heaven for me. It is a dark and gloomy day here. It is currently thundering and raining. It is the perfect day to nap, but I just wanted to enjoy the silence in my house. Sleeping is for the birds, right?! - For all my Keurig owners out there, you must run to your local Bed Bath & Beyond and pick up a box of Wolf Gang Puck Chef's Reserve Columbian Dark Roast. If you like a dark and smooth roast, check them out. I strongly recommend.
- Our veggie garden has been planted and I am more excited than ever to have one. I think it is because Reyna is really into it this year. She checks on the garden daily and helped in the planting process. Ruby? She thinks it is fun to trample thru with her itty bitty piggy toes.
- Jade's grandpa was put on an oxygen tank 24/7. He has this problem with his lungs where they are starting to fail him. He has never smoked a day in his life, but when he worked construction he was exposed to a lot of harmful chemicals. I know it bothers Jade a lot to see his grandpa like this. We are heading out there tonight to take them dinner.
- Ruby peed on the potty last night. I was changing her diaper and asked her if she wanted to try. She waddled her nakey little self into the bathroom, found her potty chair and went. She was so proud, she carried it out to the living room to show Jade & Reyna. We were so proud.
- This afternoon, I am hauling my 16 pound cat + both girls to the vet so Kramer can receive one measley shot. It is going to take more time to get my children and the cat loaded into the car than the actual vet appointment itself. Grrr.

Couponing
Walgreens:6 Right Guard deodorants, Ajax dish soap & Clearsil face soap $3.83 + 2.00 off coupon off my next purchase!!!
Target: two pasta ronis, two satin care shave cream (small size), one package pads, 3 starkist chunk light tuna, Crest Kids, Oral B Trainer toothpaste (not pictured), Zantac(not pictured) $10.90 I could have saved a little more here, but Jade needed Zantac and the girls have to use different toothpaste still, since Ruby cannot have flouride yet. boo.:( Oh, well. I was still stoked!
So, I am pretty excited to share these pictures! I have been clipping coupons for a month or so now and it has saved us some serious loot. Tonight was the first night that I really went all out coupon shopping and I was pretty pleased with how I did. I hope to save a little more on our grocery bill, but it will come with time. Is it crazy that I am so excited to get my hands on the paper in the morning to see what is on sale?
As far as our grocery bill....I spent $64.50 and saved $36.14.
A friend of min estarted a Facebook group about couponing in our area and it has really helped get me motivated + I have a really good friend who should have her own show on how to save money thru couponing. She is amazing! There are a few websites that I have on my google reader that update quite a bit during the week. I still have a lot to learn, but so far, it has been so much fun. :)

Pictures can say so much
These pictures tell quite a story about a typical day around our house. Just in case you couldn't tell:
- Reyna wears the craziest outfits and I just really do not care. I let her get herself dressed. As long as she is dressed for the weather when heading outdoors, I am fine in whatever. She is being herself. I have picked my battles and I am choosing not to fight her on this one. Plus, I love watching her walk out of her room seeing what she looks like. You never know what she may look like. :)
- Ruby LOVES the outdoors. If there is a pair of shoes sitting next to the side door (hence, the Uggs), she wiggles her little piggies into them and thinks that it is time to go "side."
- When things do not necessarily go Miss Ruby's way, she tends melt to the floor as if the world is going to end. I do get a kick out of watching her sometimes as long as I know she is safe....meaning she isn't going to throw herself into a piece of hard furniture etc....
- Quite often, Ruby's hair is just one hot mess. She has been such a little stinker about letting me touching it. If I let her play with her toothbrush in the bathroom sink, she will let me do whatever to it. So, that is what I have been doing.
- Sometimes, pants are just not an option. For Ruby, not for me. Just in case you were curious! haha.
- On this particular day, we did end up taking a walk. We just went out with more clothing, different shoes & improved attitudes.

Average day around here
I menu planned for the week, but the menu is in my purse and my purse is on the computer desk. I am curled upon the couch and I have no intention of moving for a little while. Jade & I are watching Anthony Bordeain No Reservation's on the Travel Channel. Have you ever watched it? It is about food & culture around the world.

These pics were taken today. Reyna was playing the Wii and anytime she does, Ruby sits in front of the TV and watches her.
Later in the day, both girls colored together. It is so nice that Ruby is getting to the age where she can interact with Reyna. Happy Monday, ya'll.

Friday Night Leftovers.
It has been a while since I have posted on a Friday night! Tonight's the night, because I have lots to tell.
- I had a Neurology appointment this morning so I could have my head doc switch my migraine preventitive meds. I am not getting migraines, but I am having to take my Immitrex quite a bit, meaning my preventitive wasn't effective. He put me on Topamax and I am hoping that this is the last time for switching meds. The girls came along with me and they were great, but after waiting a half hour just to get in with head doc, they were getting quite antsy.
- On our way home today, I stopped @ McDonalds for a smoothie for Reyna. As we were hanging out on the couch watching a movie & sipping our coffee (mine) and smoothie, she looked at me and said, "Mama, this smoothie is damn cold." Uhm, okay. The funny part was she was not laughing when she said it. There was no repeating it. She was not trying to get a reaction for me, therefore I did not give her one. I ignored it until I got up and went into another room and burst into laughter. This was our first incident with a naughty word. I couldn't help but laugh just a little.
- We are going on vacation. This is a post in itself, so stay tuned.
- I am looking forward to tomorrow. Jade is dropping Reyna off at his parents and we are taking Ruby to Lansing. Jade is going to play tennis near EastWood Towne Center. After his tennis match, we are heading to Outback for dinner. It will be nice spending some one on one time with Roobs.
- Jade & I have been watching The Australian Open every night of the week for the past two weeks now. It is a sport that we both actually enjoy watching.
- Ruby threw a tantrum today (well, there were a few, but one in particular) because I made her get out of the rabbit cage. Yes, she was fully inside of Hanks cage trying to lock the cage. Good grief! No wonder I am worn out by 8:00 pm every night.
- I went to a playdate today with a new group of moms. It was hosted by a girl I went to school with. It was a lot of fun and the moms are very nice. They meet twice a month and I am looking forward to next time.

Exhausted.
Okay, parenting was down right exhauting today. I don't think that it started shaving minutes off of my life until around 3:30. Why does stuff always hit the fan when I am about to cook???? My mom was here today and I should have started din din while she was here.
Well, in Ruby's defense we are wearing her from her baba. All of this week, we are only giving her one before nap & bed. Next week, she will only get one before bed and the following week, nada. She was a tad whinier today. I have tried giving her cups of milk and she throws them. Yes, sweet Miss Ruby throws her cup.
I am exhausted and I want to finish the laundry, watch my dvr'd shows, read my book, blog about Christmas & start working out. Not only do I need to figure out how to get Roobs to drink moo juice out of a sippy, but I also need to find a way to aquire more hours in my day.
