((Mostly)) Wordless Wednesday

Remember last May when we were struck by lightning and we lost a pine tree in our back yard? Well...Miss Mother Nature must detest our pines because Mondays ice storm was a little unkind to our trees, once again....another mess. Sigh.

Last weekend, I was going thru my blog archives and came across this video from a little over a year ago. After watching it, I felt the tears just streaming down my face. Partly because Ruby was a baby and now she is getting so big, but Reyna's voice was the other half of the reason for my tears. Her voice. Her little baby voice. How she sounds so little. And sweet. And baby-like. Oh, why do they have to get bigger?

This is the new video that I took yesterday. The girls are crazy for Kramer. He is so tolerable.

In other news, Ruby is getting so big. She learned to climb up onto the couch today. You should have seen the look on her face. She was so darn proud of herself. Of course, she climbed up there to get to Kramer, who was snoozin' on the back of the couch.

She is also starting to say new words. Just to name a few:

mama, ma, mum
da, dada
Bobo
please
no (which sounds like nah)
baby
bankie (blankie)
mmmm hmmm...when she means yes, this is what she says

It is also adorable to hear her make cow, sheep, horse & pig sounds. The cow was the first one she accomplished

The girls have really been playing a lot more lately. It is so nice having them entertain each other.

Updates on Reyna bug to come....

Today I am thankful for playdates with other mommy's,

9 months today!

Do you remember this picture? Or what about the first time Reyna fed Ruby a bottle? This morning, Reyna insisted on feeding Ruby her bottle. Even though Ruby likes to feed herself these days, I put her in Reyna's lap. Isn't Ruby huge? I cannot believe today Ruby is 9 months. More to come...

Why they have meaning

Jade & I have planted three different trees in our yard, each time we have lost someone close to us. The one we planted for his grandmother is a summer bush/mini tree, so it has not started to look "pretty" yet. But, each spring our flowering pear and our newport plum flower and they are a reminder to me of my Great grandfather and my grandpa. I like the fact that these trees have more meaning to me than just a tree we planted. I miss both of them tremendously and each spring when both of these trees flower, I cannot believe how fast passes by.
