Let's Get Together

Well, you know us Feister's roll....any excuse for a get together, right? Aunt Diane drove to J-town for a visit and well, we had a cookout/partay! {Aunt Sherry Lynn was missing....:((( She was out of town for a wedding.}

So, there was a TON of kiddos. And they ALL wanted to play with Kaitlin.

My mom asked Bobby (in a serious way) to take a lot of pictures. My brother and his sense of humor....he took pictures of EVERYTHING. I really do love his sense of humor.

I am soooo soooo glad we were able to pile all the great grand babies on the couch with my Grandma. I look at these pictures and I am so glad to have them. The pictures and the good memories of this day. After the littles, it was the big kids' turn. After that, her kids turn and that is where I am sad to see Aunt Sherry isn't there. I am still thinking of photoshopping her in though.

Day #6
Today I am thankful for the right to vote. I must admit, I am also thankful for this yummy omlette that hubs made me, as well. :)

Friday went like this.

The girls & I slept in this morning (thank goodness), which was nice because I stayed up way too late last night watching a movie. I brewed myself coffee and made the girls raspberry smoothies for breakfast and then we got ready and met Nana at Target. The girls were soooo happy to see her. After Target, we headed downtown and had Mexican for lunch. My mom and I may or may not have had marg's with our lunch. :)))))) Our last stop was the grocery store, which went pretty smooth, as well. The girls were definitely ready to get home though.

Okay, I swear I get this kid dressed. When we went to the store, her hair was done and she was in CLOTHES. The minute we walked in the door, she took her hair down and put her nightgown on, which she does everyday. I cannot keep her in anything but a nightgown at home. Whatever!

I grilled hamburgers, while the girls rode their bikes.

When did she get so big???

This was our mail today. No bills. Four magazines, one Philosophy coupon and Macy's coupons. Best.Mail.Ever!!!!! We are magazine junkies. Jade signed us up for some kind of magazine club and we get magazines all the dang time. I love it!

So, I was talking to my friend, Jess the other day and I was telling her that I never buy K cups anymore. I only buy Starbuck's beans. She was getting rid of a (almost brand new) coffee maker that I took off her hands today. I think I am going to give the Keurig a rest for a while and go back to a regular coffee maker. I do love the Keurig, but the KCups are so expensive!

I bought this book less than a week ago and I am 76% done with it. It is such a good book! The author is coming to Michigan in June and I would like to go to her book signing. She is going to be in the Detroit area.

Anyway, that was our day. Reyna has soccer in the morning and I am hoping to get a few pictures of her on the field.

*This has been the normal since Monday around here. Everyone (minus Jade) has been sick. Reyna was in the doctor last Wednesday with an ear infection + strep. Jade & I left over the weekend (more on that later) and by Monday, Ruby was at the doctor Monday afternoon with the same crud. To top all of this off, I ended up with a migraine, which I have not had since November. Luckily, Jade is a rockstar and took the day off and took care of us with the help of my mama. It went a little like this: My mom came over, Jade took me in to the doctor for drugs to stop my vomiting and pain, brought me home, took himself to the doctor for an already scheduled check-up, came home, got into the car not ten minutes later and took Ruby in. Now I have a cold/sinus thing going on, but that is nothing compared to the headache I had on Monday. I am not feeling bad enough to head to the doctor quite yet. I am going to give it one more day and see how I feel.

*Well, before everyone ended up sick and miserable, Jade & I had a relaxing weekend in Ann Arbor. We left Friday evening sans the girls and over to A2. Alone. Just the two of us. Friday evening we had dinner downtown and then Starbuck's. We were both pretty tired, so after that, we checked into our hotel and just lounged. Jade may or may not have watched several episodes of "Say Yes to the Dress" with me. :))))) Saturday morning, we slept in and then went and had a delicious breakfast. Once again, we lounged until it was time for lunch and then we headed over to Olga's. Yummm!!!! We had asked Brad & Stacey to meet us in A2 for dinner Saturday night. Stacey ended up coordinating a big group of people to come up and play Whirly ball. We had dinner with B&S @ Joe's Crab Shack (hence the bibs) and then played Whirly ball with about 20 others. Have you ever played?? It was a lot of fun. I do have a bruise on the side of my leg to prove that I played though. I would definitely play again. Sunday, Jade & I stopped @ World Market on our way home from our weekend away. That was the only shopping we did all weekend, which was nice. That was definitely  not the point of our weekend. We need to make little weekend getaways more often!

*So the weather in Michigan has been SO amazing! 70's all week. ((Gran....see above picture....It's for you!!!! My hostas are coming up)) We are going to go to the park today and tomorrow. It might snow next week because it is March and it's Michigan, but for the time being, we are taking advantage of it.

*Reyna informed today that she was going to be a truck driver when grows up. This is not the first time she has told me she is going to be a truck driver. Usually it is a cememt truck driver. Today she asked me she was going to drive a propane truck and she was wondering if Papa would mind if she borrowed one of his trucks from his work. I love her.

*My cousin Kristin??? Yep, she is PREGNANT!!!!!!!! I could not be more excited about this news. As most of you know, she is my friend/cousin, Reynas Godmother and just one darn important person in our life. She is going to make such a fantastic mama and I am so excited to meet this tiny new babe.

*Don't get me wrong, I do love my mornings, but I am SO excited for tomorrow morning. While Ruby was sleeping today, Reyna and I made homemade cinnamon rolls. We let them rise all day. Tomorrow morning, they will need to bake and I will glaze them with a powdered sugar glaze. Oh, my. Healthy? Not really. Yummy??? Uhm, yes! Perfect with coffee if I do say so myself.

*Have you started thinking about Easter yet? What do you fill baskets with? Do you buy pre-made baskets? I have bought candy, but nothing else so far. I have a few ideas in mind, but I would love to hear what you like to do!

Let's skate!

Miss Roobs, Mama has a confession. I underestimated you. I didn't think that ice skating would go well, but you proved me wrong and I am so glad that you did! You were so amazing on your skates. I loved how you kept saying, "ooohh, the ice is sllliiiperrry".

You were amazing!!!

Don't tell Reyna, but I think you skated a little better your first time than when she skated HER first time. BUT, that is our secret, okay????

Open skate was from 7:20-9:30 and my biggest reservation was the time. I thought she would be cranky and ready for bed. She skated until the last half hour when she decided it would be fun to get candy out of the vending machines. My parents went with us, so they hung out with her, while we finished skating with Reyna. I am so glad she had such a fun time. The girls looked so sweet skating next to each other. :)

The Tree House

As you can see, the girls had a blast @ The Tree House last week. ((Gran, this video is totally FOR you xoxo)). :) I love when we can meet up with Aunt Kristin and her mom. It usually works like that where our mamas can go too and catch up, as well.

Do you LOVE Reyna's headband??? It was a "must have" according to Miss Thing. I choose not to argue over her fashion statements anymore. It is just not worth it.

This was that first time we went and Ruby just went off and played the entire time. She climbed, went down the slides and played, played, played.

Yep, they played together the entire time. I love that they are such good friends.

And this is what the slide scenario was. Reyna on her bottom the way they are supposed to be and my little rebel who chooses not to listen. I couldn't resist sharing this picture.

Ruby didn't like this slide. I am not sure why.

Don't we have pretty mamas??? I think so.

Of course, the girls always love their time with Aunt Kristin, but so do I. :)
