Ruby loves her boots. She is also into wearing tights right now. She gets this from her big sis, of course. On Monday, she wore her boots. When I asked where she got them...
"from Great Gramma. I feel like her today, too."
-Ruby
Of course hearing her say this, I had to walk away for a minute to wipe away my tears. If you have a minute, please say an extra prayer for my Grandma.

I am in the process of getting my resume updated. Going back to work, is definitely in the cards and is something that sounds exciting to me now that the girls are getting older. Don't get me wrong, I do love being home, but it's time. Roobs needs to interact with other children more than just playdates. In fact, she needs school/daycare more than I need to dress up a few days a week. True story.
One day I was doing crafts with the girls and I asked them how they felt about me getting a job just like daddy. I think they stopped dead in their tracks and looked at me with the most serious faces I have ever seen.
Reyna:"Mama, what is going to happen to Ruby??? Is daddy quitting his job??"
Me: "Well, no. I think she might go to daycare."
Cue the horrified looks and tears from both girls........
Both girls in unison: "WHAT IS DAYCARE???"
Oh, my.....

Little Bobby
The girls: "Mama, we want a baby brother...one that is not very stinky. Yeah, and we would like to call him little Bobby."
When Jade got "fixed," I knew there would come a day I would have a slight pain in my uterus for another baby. Not that I WANT another baby, it's just the fact that my babies are growing way too fast. Jade told me this the day I signed my name on that dotted line for consent for his vasectomy. He said to me that we would not be adopting or getting a sperm donor....hehehe.
Most days I am glad that the girls are getting older. I love that I leave the house with nothing but a purse and not a diaper bag or that Jade and I were able to go to Florida last week by ourselves.
It's definitely bittersweet.

Reyna-isms.
"Mom, Luke doesn't like any of the girls, but he does like me and Bayli."
"I just wanted to let you know that Sophie doesn't wear her underwear to gymnastics so starting next week, I won't be wearing mine."
"So the new girl, yeah her show and tell is the SAME DAY AS MINE!! She brought a fart machine in. (Can you imagine my face as she said this???) So, next Christmas, I am going to ask for one, too. It was sooooo cool."
"I want to go ice skating. Did you know that Uncle Bob is so handsome? Did you remember that the first time I met Kaitlin was when we went ice skating with her??"
Oy.

One month + Food funnies
One month.
So, I am slacking.
I have thought about ending this poor little blog. I have pushed it to the corner and given it no attention. We have all been pretty sick. Like, really sick. Thank you, kindergarten. Reyna has definitely learned the art of sharing.
So, I am not going to stop blogging. I do enjoy going back and reading the haps.
I do have two funnies that I wanted to share. Yesterday, I asked the girls if they wanted edadame with their lunch. Ruby said, but she wanted eda-daddy. Get it???
This morning, I made Jade & the girls dunker eggs (over easy). Ruby asked me if I would cut her dumpster egg.
:)

Out of the mouth of babes
1. Me. "Reyna."
Reyna. "Mama, my name is still Princess Sophia."
2. Ruby: "Mama, I have Winnie the Shampoo panties on today."
3. Reyna: "Mama, when did your boobs get so small?"
I didn't say this, but I remembered a recent conversation with friends about whether or not we would have implants done or not. I might seriously reconsider my answer now......ha!
4. I turned Ruby's Leapfrog Violet on last night for her and the first thing it says is, "Hi Ruby."
"Mama, I really do not like when she calls me by my name. Please make her stop."
This list could go on and on...:)

Oh, my.
The girls & I were driving home today from running a few errands. The windows were slightly cracked, I had some music on, but all of a sudden I heard crying from the back seat. Reyna was crying. When I asked her why, she explained to me that she didn't want to start eating baby food again. I was super confused. Between her tiny little sobs, she told me that she thought she was going to lose all her teeth at one time (she has two loose teeth) and not be able to chew food. I felt so bad that she was upset over this, but I did get a little laugh out of it. Quietly, of course. :))
*************
I heard Roobs reading our box set of Disney Princess books after dinner. She would read quietly until the she shouted, "and they lived happily ever after." She said this for every princess book.
I think we need to get some books about superheros...what do you think?????

The reason why we usually pick clothes the night before school.
The girls are good in the morning. We are lucky. I know a lot of other parents who have children who do not like the mornings, but the girls are a lot like Jade & I. I forgot to have Reyna pick out clothes last night for school. Well, I won't be doing that again! It's hard right now due to the fact our weather is really, really nice. She doesn't have a lot to choose from. Most of her clothes are Winter.
Me:"Come on, let's get you dressed. We are running a little late (go flippin' figure) so we need to get you dressed and eat".
Reyna:"What is that?????? I am NOT wearing stripes ever again! I will only wear polka dots, mama. (The crying begins) Mama, do I see a tag on that shirt? Where did that shirt even COME FROM?? Okay, I will wear polka dots OR butterflies".
Me:"Reyna, it's a tagless shirt. It's adorable and I bought it for you and you have yet to wear it. Since it's so nice out, there isn't a ton to choose from until we do a little shopping, but I will try to find something else".
I drag my arse back to her room just because it is not worth the battle to fight with her that early in the morning. I find Roobs still waking up in her bed looking all adorable. I ended up finding a shirt with a butterfly thank you Lord! I made Roob's promise me she was never ever going to be that difficult for me. Her response???
"I just want necklaces, mama".
Does this mean she is going to be even MORE diffficult or what??? What does this mean?????? Girls, I tell ya!

Random-ness
We are getting ready to go camping. Reyna thought the camper fridge would be a perfect spot for her farm animals. Reyna kept reminding me all day, "only one more sleep until we go camping, mama." She is so excited.
I haven't been in much of a bloggy mood this week. I blinked and it was Thursday night. It was so strange knowing today was the first of September. Where did summer go????
This week:
- I dropped of a ton of crap @ St. Vincent's. It felt good to get rid stuff.
- We had dinner @ the Subway Jade just finished building. They had a friends/family/contractors night before they opened. The girls had fun and loved that there was cake and cupcakes.
- My mom came over Monday. We took the girls to the park and then to the library. I had to haul a tantrum throwing child out of the library due to the fact I wouldn't let her take one of the libraries toys home with her. It was probably the worst fit I have ever had to deal with. It was exhausting...for the both of us.
- Reyna informed me the other night (while I was grilling) that I could no longer be allowed outside alone. When I asked why, she reminded me that there are crazies in this world and she didn't want anyone to take me. She stood there and watched me grill the rest of the time the burgers cooked. At least she is paying attention to me, right???
- Jade was calling for Ruby tonight to come get her nails trimmed. Her response? "No, Imma pincesssss." Good lord.

Friday Night Leftovers-"No you are not drinking coffee @ five years old" edition.
- The girls & I went to a friends house today for a playdate. Her family owns a huge dairy farm in the area. The girls? Yep, they were in heaven. All day, Reyna has asked, "when are we going back to Mamanda's(Amandas) house??"
- I finished, "Water for Elephants". LOVED. If you are looking for a good read, I recommend it. Next week, I am going to watch the movie with my grandma.
- I just found out that Gymboree has a new fall line coming out Monday with Pug's! I cannot pass this up. Bobo will be excited about it, too!!! hehe. :)
- There was a frog in my house yesterday. Loose. Guess who was behind this crazy chaos? Uhm hmmm.
- Do your kids have chores that they do on a regular basis? Just curious....
- Jade brought me flowers yesterday & cooked dinner. He is a saint.
- I am still trying to figure out how to get out of bed early to get Reyna to school on time. I swear, I blame my laziness on the Pug. She is sooo lazy. I wanted to get up early this morning and the only thing that woke me was the smell of sausage cooking. It was like the sight out of a movie. I followed the smells of sausage and coffee to the kitchen.
- I want a new wardrobe. Is that too much to ask???
- "Mama, when I turn five, do I get to drink coffee like you??" -Reyna

Our convo today
While we were out swinging today....
Reyna:Mama, there is nobody out right now. Do you think everyone is still at work?
Me: Yeah, honey. Everyone is still at work. Daddy should be coming home soon though.
Reyna:Do you think that Aunt Kristin is at work?
Me:She is probably getting her classroom ready for school, but she has not started back to work yet.
Reyna:Do you think we could go visit Aunt Kristin at her class?
Me: Yes! When she goes back to school, we will make a trip over there with Nana and visit her and see her classroom on a day that you do not have school.
Reyna:Okay!!! Hey, we went to visit Uncle Bobby at school, remember??
Me: Yes, we did. He is done with college. Now he goes to work everyday.
Reyna:What is college?
Well, it is where you go to study something that you find interesting so you can find a really good job after you finish school...I mumbled something else too...cannot remember what. I told her I studied English and Spanish and she looked at me like I was nuts.
Me:Reyna, what do you want to go to study? What do you want to do when you grow up? (I gave her some examples).
Reyna:You mean for Halloween?
Me:Huh??? No sweetie, where do you want to work?
Reyna:Well, I am going to go to work with Nana everyday and make my money. But don't worry mama, I will come home every night.
Me:Promise?
Reyna:I promise, mama.
Reyna:Mama, there is nobody out right now. Do you think everyone is still at work?

((Mostly)) Wordless Wednesday
Wednesday is coming at you with a few words today. Aunt Mollie went to Mexico and brought Reyna a rather large starfish home. After Reyna received it today, she filled the bathroom sink with water, found her fishies and a few other shells to keep her starfish company for an afternoon float. And of course the water was salty water instead of fresh water because you know, starfish do not live in the fresh water.
Seriously, Reyna took my salt shaker and made sure the starfish was happy in it's environment.
How can I say no to that imagination???

Top Ten Tuesday-
- I have been cleaning out and weeding out and throwing out random stuff around the house that no longer needs a place in our house anymore. Old cleaning products, old linens, old meds, toys with missing pieces, misc. stuff that was no longer needed. So, if you happen to come over, I will no longer apologize ahead of time for my coat closet, medicine chest, linen closet or under the kitchen sink. I guess you could say spring cleaning, maybe?
- I am tired. Like, really tired. And I know moms that have busy little babes are supposed to be tired, so it sounds normal, but my tired that I am feeling, does not feel normal. Following?? I am not worried that it is something major, but I do think that it is my new meds my Neurologist put me on for my migraine preventitive. He wanted me @ 75, but I think 50 is working @ it is the max my body can handle. Also, Em made a good point today. She asked about my vitamin intake and water intake. Uhm...I am guilty on both. My response? Water has no caffeine. Yes, I have been awful about drinking agua during the day. SO, I made a promise to myself to drink more water during the day and I am going to start taking an Iron supplement on top of my Multi.
- We had lunch with my mom and dad today. That in itself made for a good day. :)
- Ruby's new phrase is, "oh, dosh." (oh gosh) When she drops something, she says it. So cute.
- Uncle Bobby came home from work today a little sleepy and thought he might catch a little nap on the couch before dinner with my crazy ladies running around. I just had to laugh. It was a good thought anyway.
- Reyna, Aunt Em & I made something today and I can't wait to show you all tomorrow.
- Reyna has informed me that Santa is bringing her a new bunny & a hampster for Christmas. So.not.happening.
- I LOVE Bethenny Frankel. The second I am done typing this, I have a date with her and Hulu. :)
- I was so ticked, I was driving to my parents today and got a tiny chip in my windshield. Reyna (she notices EVERYTHING) noticed it right away and when she did she told me that I better start shopping for a new van. (She calls the Suburban a van b/c she never wanted to get rid of the van in the first place. She gets sentimental about things.) I tried to explain to her that cars were very expensive and that a tiny chip in the windshield can be fixed, but she was not so convinced.
- I went to CVS this past Sunday and scored a few free things thanks to the help of a very dear friend. I must admit, I am really excited for the ads to make their debut on Sunday. Uhm, nerd?

top ten tuesday
1.)One of Ruby's favorite things to do these days is walk around in Princess high heels. If she wants them on, she will hand them to you and say, "shoe, shoe." She walks pretty well in them, too.
2.)Reyna informed us yesterday that Bobo's name has changed to Cuzilla (Cuh-Zilla). Her last name is now Bobo or as Reyna puts it, her second name. She has corrected me several times already when I do not call her by the correct name.
3.)I found the girls reading together again this evening while I was picking up the house. Thank goodness for a camera that is usually sitting on the shelf to capture moments like these.
4.)I am getting ready to steam clean the carpets thru the house. I still haven't figured out what I am going to do when they are done. I guess just go to my room...the only room in the house with hard wood. The rest of the house will need to dry. I sure as heck do not want to hang out in the kitchen!
5.)I got my hair cut today. It felt soooo good to go sans the girls, get my hair cut, chit chat with my hair dresser & stop at the store before heading to my mom's to hang out for the afternoon.
6.)At dinner, Reyna showed me how she can chew a hole thru the middle of a cucumber without breaking the circle shape. When I asked her where she learned this, she informed me Nana taught her how to do this. Uhm mom, care to comment??? :) I am guessing this wasn't where.
7.)Reyna threw a fit tonight at dinner when her banana broke apart. She was so upset, she asked me tape it back together. When I asked her if she was going to eat the tape, in between sobs she managed to answer, "yes."
8.)When you tell Ruby, "I love you" she will now respond saying, "I love you, too." It.melts.my.heart. It comes out like, "Eye u too."
9.)I don't know about the rest of you, but I cannot stand a dirty car. This time of year is the worst. It was a decent day here, so the girls & I pulled thru the car wash on the way to my mom & dad's this morning. Later in the afternoon, I went and vaccumed it out and went back to my mom's and soaked the floor mats. It feels so much better to be driving a clean car!
10.)My name is Leslie and I am addicted to Gobstoppers.

{Almost} Wordless Wednesday

Her prince charming
Reyna:"Mama, I am a princess. Did you know that?"
Me:"Yes, honey. You are my princess. Do you have a prince charming?"
Reyna:"Yes, I do. Daddy is my prince charming & I am not willing to share him."
She adores her daddy.
I just love her....

Our poor animals
Reyna: "Mama, Kramie needs a nightgown on so he can be a princess like me!"
Me: "Reyna, Kramer is a boy so he cannot be a princess and he really doesn't need to wear a nightgown."
She was obviously ignoring me because as you can see, he still has a nightgown on.
Reyna: "Oh, he also needs a crown. Then he will realllllyyyy be a princess, mama."
Whatever Reyna.

funny
I just need to write this down for memory sake. So, Jade does this thing with Reyna where he takes her nose and swallows it. When he first started doing this, she would get really upset and demand her nose back. She started realizing it was a game and she would ask him to cough up her nose. It's really quite gross, but Jade will never feel like he is missing out on not having a son because Jade & Reyna are two peas in a pod. So, he will start coughing and making all these crazy noises and finally her nose will "come up." I told you it was gross. Stay with me, it gets funny. So tonight, he "swallowed" her nose. When she asked for it back Jade said, "alright, I will make a deal with you. I will either give you your nose back or pay for you college, which is it going to be?"
In her cute and little voice, she replied,
"I just want my nose, daddy."
