Let's skate!

Miss Roobs, Mama has a confession. I underestimated you. I didn't think that ice skating would go well, but you proved me wrong and I am so glad that you did! You were so amazing on your skates. I loved how you kept saying, "ooohh, the ice is sllliiiperrry".

You were amazing!!!

Don't tell Reyna, but I think you skated a little better your first time than when she skated HER first time. BUT, that is our secret, okay????

Open skate was from 7:20-9:30 and my biggest reservation was the time. I thought she would be cranky and ready for bed. She skated until the last half hour when she decided it would be fun to get candy out of the vending machines. My parents went with us, so they hung out with her, while we finished skating with Reyna. I am so glad she had such a fun time. The girls looked so sweet skating next to each other. :)

The Tree House

As you can see, the girls had a blast @ The Tree House last week. ((Gran, this video is totally FOR you xoxo)). :) I love when we can meet up with Aunt Kristin and her mom. It usually works like that where our mamas can go too and catch up, as well.

Do you LOVE Reyna's headband??? It was a "must have" according to Miss Thing. I choose not to argue over her fashion statements anymore. It is just not worth it.

This was that first time we went and Ruby just went off and played the entire time. She climbed, went down the slides and played, played, played.

Yep, they played together the entire time. I love that they are such good friends.

And this is what the slide scenario was. Reyna on her bottom the way they are supposed to be and my little rebel who chooses not to listen. I couldn't resist sharing this picture.

Ruby didn't like this slide. I am not sure why.

Don't we have pretty mamas??? I think so.

Of course, the girls always love their time with Aunt Kristin, but so do I. :)

Random-ness

We are getting ready to go camping. Reyna thought the camper fridge would be a perfect spot for her farm animals. Reyna kept reminding me all day, "only one more sleep until we go camping, mama." She is so excited.

I haven't been in much of a bloggy mood this week. I blinked and it was Thursday night. It was so strange knowing today was the first of September. Where did summer go????

This week:
  • I dropped of a ton of crap @ St. Vincent's. It felt good to get rid stuff.
  • We had dinner @ the Subway Jade just finished building. They had a friends/family/contractors night before they opened. The girls had fun and loved that there was cake and cupcakes.
  • My mom came over Monday. We took the girls to the park and then to the library. I had to haul a tantrum throwing child out of the library due to the fact I wouldn't let her take one of the libraries toys home with her. It was probably the worst fit I have ever had to deal with. It was exhausting...for the both of us.
  • Reyna informed me the other night (while I was grilling) that I could no longer be allowed outside alone. When I asked why, she reminded me that there are crazies in this world and she didn't want anyone to take me. She stood there and watched me grill the rest of the time the burgers cooked. At least she is paying attention to me, right???
  • Jade was calling for Ruby tonight to come get her nails trimmed. Her response? "No, Imma pincesssss." Good lord.

{Almost} Wordless Wednesday

It wasn't a very nice day here, today. We made the best of it. Do you like my new bling Reyna made for me??

Ludington-Memorial weekend

Uhm, crazy hair?

Alayna & Reyna had a blast all weekend together.

Ruby had so much fun watching all the boats and seagulls.

Roobs showing off her chunky little thighs....

and her sassy little tude!

I could not believe she went in. It was freeeeezing.

I could have left her at the beach and picked her up at the end of summer. :) She is such a little beach babe.

For as long as Jade's parents have had their place in Ludington, we have been going up there for Memorial weekend. It gives us an extra day to hang out and all of their neighbors and neighbor's family are in town that weekend. Now that Reyna is getting older, there are quite a few kids her age (give or take a year or two) to play with, which makes things so much fun for her.

It was kind of a bummer Memorial weekend this year due to good ol' mother nature. The beach pictures? Yeah, they were taken the last day we were there. I didn't even take my camera out Saturday or Sunday. It wasn't worth it. We were cooped up all day Saturday going stir crazy due to an all day drizzle. Sunday was somewhat decent, but definitely not what we were looking forward to.

I did manage to sneak away on Sunday for a while by myself. I went downtown and browsed around and of course, picked up a delicious caramel apple from Kilwin's. I also picked up Reyna a Melissa & Doug puzzle of the solar system. She loves it! Plus, we have been talking a lot about the planets and I think it helps her somewhat understand.

I think to top our weekend off was the fact that Ruby slept awful. And when I say awful, this is an understatment. It felt like we had a newborn on our hands. After Friday night, I slept on the floor the rest of the weekend in random places thruought Jade's parents. I think the last time I slept on the floor anywhere was at a sleepover in elementary, maybe?? We made it thru out weekend with a lot of help from Starbuck's and let me tell you, our own bed was heaven the night we came home.

To end on a positive note, we enjoyed a fabulous dinner of fresh salmon Saturday night. It was so yummy. The guys didn't fish Monday morning, so they woke up and cooked a huge breakfast. Reyna played with all the neighbor kids and watching her made me realize how much she is growing. Monday, the guys went golfing and I took the girls to Lake Michigan with a friend of the family and her granddaughter, who are actually from Jackson, as well. Reyna & Alayna had such a blast together. Ruby? She was fine hanging out with her mama, as usual.

{Almost} Wordless Wednesday

(Our dairy farm trip)
I am pretty sure we could have stayed all day. We loved it.
