Will this get me out of my blogging funk? Let's hope. You know how it is time time of year. My time and energy are going to everything BUT documenting life right now.

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Mostly wrapping paper. The girls stuff is all wrapped by our local toy store. They wrap for free, which is awesome for me. I do use a few gift bags for gift cards.
2. Real tree or Artificial? Real this year!!!! This is the first year we have had a real tree since we have been married. We have always had an artificial and I have always hated the one we had. Jade finally broke down and agreed to a real tree. I always had a real one growing up.
3. When do you put up the tree? The first or second weekend in December. I REFUSE to decorate until December. I cannot get into the Christmas mood until then. It went up a little earlier this year, because Reyna was ready to put it up and start decorating the house.
4. When do you take the tree down? I am a Grinch, I take the tree down the day after Christmas. Isn't that awful??? I am such a clutter free person, I cannot wait to have my house back to normal again. Well, as normal as it can get around here, that is. :)
5. Do you like eggnog? Blech!
6. Favorite gift received as a child? My baby alive doll and my green leather coat
7. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, I have the Willow Tree one. And for the safety of it, I left it in the box this year. I cannot tell you how many Christmas bulbs have been destroyed by a certain two year old already. Luckily, all of our nice ornaments are the top where she cannot reach.
8. Hardest person to buy for? Jades parents.
9. Easiest person to buy for? The girls, of course.
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail. I am still deciding whether to do them this year or not.
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Hmmm...I cannot think of anything right now.
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? National Lampoons Christmas Vacation
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? December.
14. Ever recycled a Christmas present? Nope.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? My parents make prime rib Christmas day and I also like waking up Christmas morning and having dough balls while the girls open their gifts. I look forward to both every year!
16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? White lights.
17. Favorite Christmas song? O' Holy Night
18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? We stay home, but travel local to our parents house.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Yep.
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Nothing this year. I need to find something the day after Christmas.
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? We open gifts with Jades parents Christmas eve, but everything at our house gets opened Christmas morning. Later in the day, we head to my parents to open more gifts.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? There is a lot I cannot stand about this time of year. People forget what this time of year is about. I was recently talking to someone and when I asked her if she was done shopping for another relative of ours, she said no. She decided to buy more because she found what this person wanted, but she found it on sale. That is not what this time of year is about. We just need to stop and remember it is not about draining our bank accounts and racking up our credit cards.
23. Favorite ornament, theme, or color? Our tree is covered in mostly Hallmark ornaments. This year, it is kind of a mess. The girls like to redecorate it daily. There are a few ornaments I did not unpack. Ruby is into everything, so there is a lot at the top and not much at the bottom. Oh, well. :)
24. What do you want for Christmas this year? Really?? There are a few things I have my eye on, but if I don't get them, then whatev. The girls are SO excited for Christmas. That is what I am excited for.

My thoughts this Thursday
I never thought I would be the person to get into organic foods, but things have changed. Jade & I had been discussing the hormones & such that they pump into milk, eggs, meats etc.... and it had me change my tune. Have you seen some of the girls and the size of their tatas lately??? Sorry to be so forward, but good grief, girls these days are getting their periods earlier, developing when they are still in elementary. What gives? Added hormones to food? There has to be a link there.
When Ruby turned a year and started chugging whole milk, I switched our milk to organic. Yes, it is a little more expensive, but worth every penny. After the milk, I started buying organic eggs, then started focusing on meat. We are not big red meat eaters to begin with, but I am trying my hardest to stay away from a lot of red meats or anything that has been processed.
We are not in a financial position to switch everything over to organic, but I think switching dairy & meats can make a huge difference.
My question for you is: Do you buy organic foods? If so, what do you buy organic? Everything? Just a few things?
I have set up a poll and it allows you to make more than one choice. I would love to see what everything thinks. If you do not want to leave a comment, that is fine, but if you have a chance, could you take the time to weigh in on the poll?

8.Three things you did this past weekend: Enjoyed a delicious breakfast made by the hubs, laundry and we went out to dinner.

10.What did your family do for vacations when you were a child? We went to Florida almost every year or close to it. We also went to D.C., Arkansas, Kansas City and Cadillac to visit family. We did have a few camping excursions that were a lot of fun, too.
11.Law & Order or Boston Legal? Embarrased to admit, but I have never watched either one.
12.Do you mind if guests show up uninvited? I am a planner and cannot stand when things don't go as planned, so I guess I am not too keen on people randomly stopping by.
13.When will you next travel by plane? We are hoping to go to Maryland to visit my aunt and uncle & cousin.

Christmas survey
Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper, mostly. I will use a couple of gift bags this year only because of a few items that would not fit in a box very well.
Real tree or artificial? This is the big debate in our house. I prefer a real tree, while Jade insists we use our artificial because it's better for the environment. We decided to use our fake until the girls are old enough to take out and chop one down.
When do you put up the tree? Two weeks before Christmas. Never earlier. I love our tree, but can't stand the extra clutter of Christmas stuff in the house. I am horrible, aren't I?!
Do you like eggnog?Yuck.
Favorite gift received as a child? Two gifts stick out in my head. One was the leather jacket ((green)) that my grandparents bought for me. I wanted that coat sooo bad. And, baby shivers. Once again, Gran and Grandpa bought her too.

Easiest person to buy for? Definitely the girls. Unfortunately, Jade & I do not have nieces and nephews to buy for...someday!

I am.
Outside my window... It's dark and very chilly.
I am thinking... about going to bed, but I want to make sure Ruby is sleeping, that I need to blog more, about Nellie.
I am thankful for...healthy kids, good friends, my family.
In my kitchen... a bag of chilean haas avocados that I just bought, a pan soaking in the sink that I made acorn squash in, a clean counter.
I am wearing... yoga pants, a red shirt and socks, pony tail and no makeup.
I am creating... hmmm...a menu for the week.
I am going... to Flavor Fruit Farms tomorrow with Jade & the girls.
I am reading... Parenting magazines and lots of books to Reyna.
I am hoping...that next week will be a better week than the past couple, our family stays healthy this winter, for a good night sleep.
I am hearing...Jade's show on National Geographic. BORING!
Around the house... the girls are sleeping, the house is clean, laundry is done and I am ready to relax tomorrow.
One of my favorite things right now... Ruby's adorable smile, Reyna's little voice, coffee!
A few plans for the weekend...laundry, grocery shopping, Flavor Fruit Farms, picking Nellie up from the vet.

25 random facts.
Several blogging buddies and many Facebook friends have been doing their 25 random facts lists. I decided to give it a try. Here it goes.
1.My parents were going to name me Jessica. Both of my grandma's had the idea (without talking to each other) of my parents naming me Leslie Ann. My dad's middle name is Leslie and my mom's middle name is Ann. There you have it, Leslie Ann.
2.I put red wine vinegar on most of my green veggies. It's so delish. Give it a try.
3.I still sleep with my childhood blanket. It's been given the nickname, "scratch." I know, I am a loser.
4.I am severely OCD. But at the same time, I have a few places that are packed full of junk. "Out of sight, out of mind." Doesn't make sense, does it.
5.Anymore when I go shopping, I will go to the kids section and look for Reyna first. I never thought I would be like that. I am.
6.I always wanted to be a professional ballerina growing up.
7.I love grapefruit. I could eat them anytime of the day. Sometimes, Jade & I will sit in bed, watch TV and peel and eat grapefruit.
8.St. Jude's commercials make me cry. They shouldn't even be allowed on TV.
9.I am a huge fan of Housewives of Orange County on Bravo. I know, it's a shallow and mindless show, but it's a guilty pleasure.
10.I too, could recite every line to the movie Dirty Dancing. It's a classic.
11.My father is truly my hero. I have never looked up to anyone else the way I look up to him. He is the most caring, loving, giving man I have ever met. (yes, Jade is a good man too! hahaha)
12.I do not like Michigan due to the cold weather, but cannot picture myself living elsewhere. It's home.
13.I get migraines and I have since 5 grade when I suffered a minor head injury due to sledding. I mean it when I say this, I would rather have chronic diarrea as opposed to migraines. They suck!
14.I always knew I wanted kids. It was never a question.
15.Jade & I check on Reyna everynight after she falls asleep. We love to watch her sleep.

16.Mint chocolate chip is my favorite icecream. My fave brand? Meijer!
17.I love to grocery shop. I cannot stand when we don't have food options. And fresh veggies and fruit is a must!

1.My parents were going to name me Jessica. Both of my grandma's had the idea (without talking to each other) of my parents naming me Leslie Ann. My dad's middle name is Leslie and my mom's middle name is Ann. There you have it, Leslie Ann.
2.I put red wine vinegar on most of my green veggies. It's so delish. Give it a try.
3.I still sleep with my childhood blanket. It's been given the nickname, "scratch." I know, I am a loser.
4.I am severely OCD. But at the same time, I have a few places that are packed full of junk. "Out of sight, out of mind." Doesn't make sense, does it.
5.Anymore when I go shopping, I will go to the kids section and look for Reyna first. I never thought I would be like that. I am.
6.I always wanted to be a professional ballerina growing up.
7.I love grapefruit. I could eat them anytime of the day. Sometimes, Jade & I will sit in bed, watch TV and peel and eat grapefruit.
8.St. Jude's commercials make me cry. They shouldn't even be allowed on TV.
9.I am a huge fan of Housewives of Orange County on Bravo. I know, it's a shallow and mindless show, but it's a guilty pleasure.
10.I too, could recite every line to the movie Dirty Dancing. It's a classic.
11.My father is truly my hero. I have never looked up to anyone else the way I look up to him. He is the most caring, loving, giving man I have ever met. (yes, Jade is a good man too! hahaha)
12.I do not like Michigan due to the cold weather, but cannot picture myself living elsewhere. It's home.
13.I get migraines and I have since 5 grade when I suffered a minor head injury due to sledding. I mean it when I say this, I would rather have chronic diarrea as opposed to migraines. They suck!
14.I always knew I wanted kids. It was never a question.
15.Jade & I check on Reyna everynight after she falls asleep. We love to watch her sleep.

Lacking time.
(More thoughtful post to come) I am working like a madwoman and have had zero time for anything but sleep. I have been reading blogs when I can and have enjoyed keeping up with everyone. : )

- How long have you guys been married? 4 years December 18th. (Where did the time go??)
- How long did you date? About four years - a breakup or two in between
- How old is he? 29. He will be 30 in March.
- Who eats more sweets? Probably me.
- Who said "I love you" first? I think that he did. It was a long time ago though, so I could be wrong.
- Who is taller? Jade, for sure. I am so short.
- Who is the better singer? This is a tough one because we are both so good. hahaha. Just kidding.
- Who does most of the laundry? I do. I prefer to do the laundry because I am very picky of what goes in the dryer and what doesn't. Oh, and I can't stand stains so I have to pre-treat stuff.
- Who pays the bills? Jade does. He is very good with money. Once in a while I will get online and pay something, but he always tells me what and when.
- Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Is this the right side when you are looking directly at the bed? Because if it is, then he does. If you are laying in bed, then it's me.
- Who mows the lawn? Jade.
- Who cooks dinner? Mostly me due to schedule, but he is an awesome cook. He does the breakfast cooking during the weekends. That's his thing.
- Who drives? Always Jade. He hates to be a passenger.
- Who is the first to admit they are wrong? We are both very stubborn, but usually me.
- Who kissed who first? I would tell you one thing, he would tell you another. :)
- Who asked out who first? He asked me out.
- Who wears the pants? Once again, we would both say something different. We are both very head strong.

Stephanie and Emilie both tagged me so here it goes.
1) I love red wine vinegar on my green vegetables. Brocoli, green beans etc.... I don't know where this habit started, but I even add a little on Reyna's veggies sometimes. She likes it.
2) I don't cut my own toe nails. Who does it? Either my mom or Jade. I have never been good at it, so I will them to do it for me. I know, I seriously need to learn to clip my own nails. Pathetic, huh?!
3) I don't like scary movies or haunted houses. I never have and probably never will.
4) I could eat Stouffer's lasagna or mac and cheese every night of the week. I don't know what it is, but I love both of them. I am sure they are not the healthiest, but oh well.
5) I couldn't run a mile to save my life. I am just not cut out for running. I read Stephanie's blog and just envy her. I wish I was able to run. Or, at least a steady jog. Not that either.
