I am posting...It's about dang time.

It's August 10th (I think) and it feels like one of those, "I want to stay inside, drink hot tea and watch TV" kind of days. What the heck?! It's not very warm. Which got me thinking about fall clothes. Nicole & I were on the phone earlier discussing whether we shop ahead of time or shop at the time of the season we are in. Nicole is smart. She shops for the next season. She gets great deals, already has clothes on hand for these kind of days and so on. Me, on the other hand well, I do not like to think about next season. I like to buy for the season that we are in. I just don't like to think that far ahead. Stupid, I know. So, I am starting to make my fall list for Reyna. Of course, it's never a list for me. I don't sit and ponder what I might need. How does that work?!

Anyway....

Yesterday, after several hours in Novi, we found bridesmaid shoes. We ventured into Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, Macy's, Nine West. Nothing. We found the shoe, but if one store had it, the other didn't or whatever. Well, it was hard finding two size five 1/2 and two size eights. All those stores and you wouldn't think it was that hard. But, if you can tell on the link, it's a different shade of brown. So, I guess that's why we had some issues. Macy's didn't have all of our sizes and wanted to charge us shipping to get from another store. I thought that should have been something they took care of. We ended up getting Travis to look on the Nina website, got a phone number and called them direct. Needless to say, Nina came thru and she is now invited to the wedding and bachlorette party...J/K. {It was the joke of the afternoon}

After saying goodbye to our lovely bride-to-be and the rest of the bridesmaids, I headed home. I decided to make a pit-stop in Ann Arbor where I shopped for a little while by myself. Ahhh...it was heaven. I walked around, ignored everyone else around me and bought a few things along the way. I have had my eye on a clock from Pottery Barn. I decided to go ahead and get it. I thought it would look nice in the bathroom. Then, I snagged two pairs of pants for Reyna from Gap. I bought one in khaki and the other pair is a dark denim. They are very cute. Then, I found a hoodie that they basically gave to me. Yes, it was that cheap.

Anyway, back to my buying clothes for each season story. I started thinking about our upcoming trip to Ludington. I am thinking it might not be that warm there during the evening hours. Plus, we are close to the water. That doesn't help. Reyna's sneakers are getting too small. I guess I will be on the hunt this week for some new ones before next weekend and probably some warm jammies. Jade said it was pretty chilly there during the night. Luckily, some of her stuff from last winter still fits, so we will just be on the look out for new tennishoes, couple pairs of pants a few shirts and a sweater or two. So, do you shop ahead of time or are you like me and wait until last minute???

Jade is home from his "business trip" weekend. I am headed out to get us some ice-cream. Definitely a nice treat to end our weekend.

i'm horrible when it comes to shopping! when i do shop, it's usually because i need something now. i know i would save if i thought ahead - maybe that could be a new goal of mine?

great update! i love that clock! glad you got to do a little shopping alone! :)

sounds like a great relaxing weekend! The last couples of days have got me thinking about fall, too. I usually buy for the season as it comes out~ something to look forward to~ cleaning out closets and going shopping! There is a tree in our neighborhood that has started to change colors already! Saw Reyna with your parents yesterday, she was enjoying her string cheese=)

LMAO at Nicole's comment on ice cream!! LOL!!

I usually will try to buy Lukas' clothing ahead of time, for the next season. I think he is pretty much set for the fall, may need more later like in Feb. And the same with next summer, I just hit up The Children's Place website last week for his next year's summer clothes. You should try to get some deals like that. Just go to the website or stores and search for the size that she will be in next summer. Now is the time to do it as there is summer clothes going on clearance.

I buy the past season on clearance for the next year. Planning is my thing. Anna has two storage totes full of 2T (We have to get her closet organizer in), and a storage tote of 3T. Ben is slowing down on growing up, but we do have school clothes.

Those shoes are awesome. I would have searched all over for them too!

I never shop ahead, I am always about the now. Especially with kids, I never know what is going to fit them and when.

I rarely, if ever, shop ahead for myself . . . I usually end up in the store at the last minute trying to find clothes to go with the latest weather. I am, however, usually a season or two ahead for the kids . . . until now. For the first time ever I do not have their entire Fall/Winter wardrobe purchased yet - usually it would have been done in the Spring.

And yeah for alone time!

I buy ahead of time, but then I buy in season and PB ends up being a fashonista. I didn't realize it til I got home last year that I had got 3 skirts and 3 shirts exactly the same but in different colors from the children's place. But they were like 2 bucks each so why not. She is set for this fall, I have a whole storage tub full.
