Moby Wrap's.

I have been tossing the idea around about getting some sort of carrier besides the Bjorn. Last weekend when I was at a bridal shower, one of the mom's had her little boy in the Moby Wrap. She had nothing but positives feedback from it and would highly recommend one.

Anyone else out there have the Moby Wrap? If so, is it a good investment to a second time mama?

Once again, thanks ahead of time for feedback. I LOVE your comments and help. :)

I used one with B, I actually made it my self modeled after the moby wrap. I didn't have a decent sling so it worked well. She ALWAYS fell asleep in it and I was able to get dinner done and such. I used the bjorn with Bennett and I liked that much more. I used it all the time. But, it's not great for sleeping babes like the moby is. If you have the bjorn, you may find yourself using both for diff. situations! I did!

I did not have one of those for my girls, I don't even know if they had them back then! BUT I think they would be awesome especially for a 2nd child. I wish I would have had one!

I got the generic version of the Moby (which Babies R Us used to carry - I can't find it on their website now) when Maren was born. I LOVED IT! It was super comfortable, and she adored being in it. I used it WAY more than the Snuggli we had when Cooper was born. It gets my vote for a worthy investment!

(Get directions from Michelle to make your own - it is esentially just one really long piece of stretchy fabric!)

I have heard really good things about the Moby...it might be worth trying. Have you ever heard of
Mom2Mom sales?

Les, if you want to send me your address, I'd be happy to send you my Moby (it is chocolate brown) and you can mail it back when you are done. Renee LOVED it. Cam? Not so much. My only gripe with it (especially with two kids) is that it takes some time to get the baby wrapped up and when you have a toddler that you are trying to chase, that time sometimes doesn't exist.

OK, so I had every carrier under the sun (Beco, Snuggli, slings etc) and the only one I LOVED was the Belle Baby Carrier:

http://www.bellebabycarriers.com/

Here's why I loved it:

1)SO SO SO easy to get on by yourself, with the baby. Some of them you need help and really, what good is that. It buckles at your sides so you can do it and it literally takes 2 seconds to get on.

2) The baby stays close to you, some I found pull which hurt my back because of my massive children.

3) You can wear the baby facing you or facing out - once Callie's neck was strong enough, she had no interest in facing in, she wanted to see!

4)It's cute!

I used it up until Callie was 20 lbs or so but you can use it up until 30, I just have back issues.

PS I also went to a million stores and tried them all on with Callie as I had wasted too much time/money in buying and selling ones that didn't end up working!

I researched all the carriers in the world too. I registered for the Bjorn but it really hurt my back and she was too little to be in it at first. And that is when you really need it! I ended up getting a mai tai when she was older and I loved it and she loved it. You can carry front facing out or in, hip, or back. Very versatle! It takes a while to get the hang of putting it on but totally comfortable and convienent. I used it in the airport and shopping when a stroller was a pain. Nic used it when Hudson was a newborn and he seemed to like it. The moby wrap is cool, I would totally use that for a newborn but not sure about when they are older. I would think it would be similar to the mai tai.

Here's a neat post about different types of "slings"

Hi Leslie! My friend Tiffany used a Moby wrap and even has a Moby blog! I know she loved hers and will use it for her next baby!

I LOVE the moby wrap. In fact, I have Bria in it right now and she is sound asleep.
