Call it whatever, it still makes me sad.

How could this little peanut be 6 months or half way to a year, already?! I am getting to the point, where I don't remember her small anymore. I don't remember what it felt like to have her as a newborn. That feeling makes me sad. But, on the flipside, she is developing such a great personality. She is sweet, mild mannered and such a cuddle bug.

My favorite time of the day with Ruby is when I hear her waking up in the morning. She is so happy and just babbles away until I go get her. When I walk in there and she sees me, she gives the sweetest smile and just starts cooing. I wish I could bottle up that sound and take it with me wherever I go.

As you can see, Miss Ruby switched over to her big girl carseat. She was getting quite heavy in her infant carrier. And, she is wanting to sit up a little more to peek over at her big sister who sits next to her in the van. Everyday, it's the same scenario. Ruby is looking over at Reyna, giggling and "talking" to her. Reyna then looks at Ruby and say, "No Roobs, this is not your blanket, it's mine!" All the while, Ruby is just a smiling away. Even though Reyna is being a stinker to Ruby, she just loves to listen to her older sister's voice. I then try to explain to Reyna every damn time we are in the car that she does not want her blanket, she just loves to look at her big sis.

Ruby looooves her food. I know there is no explanation needed behind this statement, but it's true. She loves food. The only thing she has turned down are green beans and now she eats them like a champ. I will say, I went thru the trouble to make her homemade baby food with fresh, beautiful veggies and fruits and she won't touch it. She will eat my homemade pears and apples, that's it. She acts like she is choking when I gave her my homemade ones. Little stinker. She is a Gerber baby, all the way. Some of her faves? Peaches, pears, apples, bananas, carrots, squash, green peas, sweet potatoes and of course, the milk. Let's not forget the milk. I have said this before and I will say it again, this little lady could find my boob in a crowded room. The girls loves the mik.

We won't touch too much on the sleep issue during this post. I have rant and raved enough. She used to be a good sleeper, until her teeth started to bother her. Last night, we had a good night. It's still in the back of my mind to let her "cry it out," but I have yet to work up enough strength. My feelings are, Ruby is such a good babe. She is very low maintenance, so when she cries in the night, I tend to her. I feel bad. That's all I am saying about sleep right now. It makes me tired just thinking about it.

Ruby is still very much a, "put me on my tummy more than fives minutes and I'll start crying" kinda girl. She can roll. She doesn't very often, because she knows where it gets her. She is very content on her back. Although, she can roll back to belly and belly to back.

We are working on sitting up. She can sit up, but definitely needs the support from the trusty ol' boppy. We will continue to work on this....

We have started giving her baths with Reyna, which both of them love. Reyna likes to help wash Ruby and Ruby likes to stare at Reyna. It definitely kills two birds with one stone, too.

As far as her stats on height and weight, we have a doctor appointment next week. I will fill you in then.

A few of her favorite things to do are: play in her exersaucer, play with her skwish cube ((I love this toy, it was a great investment), watch our cat, Kramer and "pet" him, take bathes, get wrapped up in the Moby, play with Mama and Daddy and Reyna, read books and play in her jungle gym.

Have I mentioned, that I just love this little girl? Happy 6 months, Ruby Elizabeth.

I swear that we are parenting the same baby! I too wish I knew where the time went. Miss Ruby is such a doll and I so love reading about her! Happy 1/2 Birthday!

Isn't it so sad how fast they grow? I say this all the time, I know. I swear I'm going to end up being one of those moms with like 10 kids because I get so sad they're growing up so fast. Luckily, the baby itch hasn't hit yet with Hudson. I'm sure within the next year, though....

I can actually say that I am feeling the same way right now! I was holding Brady the other night after feeding him, just rocking him, and couldn't believe long and big and so un-newborn like in my arms. His legs were long and straightened, and no longer have that curly feel to them. I really felt saddened to know that he is growing so quickly.
I will definitely have to try Gerber food... I didn't want to, just like you, we wanted to do the homemade foods and all, but we too are just not having the luck with him eating it. Ill let you know how it goes after we pick up some Gerber. :)
