10 months (a few days ago)

If you ask me how old Ruby is, you will get an answer and then probably see tears well up in the corner's of my eyes. It's harder this time around. I feel more sentimental. With Reyna, I couldn't wait for her to do something new, hit a new milestone, watch her blow out candles on birthday cakes each year. With Ruby, she is our baby. Our last baby. I would love for her to just stay the way she is. Now and then she will wake up in the night. Do I get up with her? You betcha. I have realized this time around that it goes by so fast and before you know it, they are all grown up. It's hard to believe that she is already 10 months. She has developed such a sweet personality. She is such a happy girl. We took her in for a well baby visit and she is now in the 50% percentile for both weight and height. She weighs 19 lbs 4 oz. and is 28 inches long. Most of the time she is a good sleeper. It's a struggle to keep her up past 7-7:30 and usually we see her smiling face around 8 the next morning. Have I mentioned her love for food? This girl loves food. Anything, you name it. She started refusing baby food about two months ago. She isn't pulling herself up to a standing position yet, but she can pull herself up to a kneeling position. I love hearing the word, "mama" come out of her mouth countless times a day and she is starting to say, "da da" too. I think she is saying "na" for Reyna. She is famous for her sweet slobby kisses and waving goodbye. Ruby is infatuated with our cat and only wishes that he wouldn't run when he sees her army crawling towards him. Just like her big sister, Ruby loves books. She loves any book by Karen Katz, which Reyna loved when she was this age, too. She is also definitely a water baby. The water can be frigid and she will still get in and splash around.

Ruby, I love your personality, your smile and the way that you "talk" with us all day long. It melts my heart when you grab your blankey, plug your thumb in your mouth and snuggle with me when you are getting sleepy. I love the fact that when you wave, you wave to yourself and how you clap when you are happy. Miss Ruby, can Mama please just hit the pause button? I love you, Doobie doo.

Leslie, Ruby is ADORABLE! And I totally relate to how you are feeling. I'm not sure we are really done yet but I am savoring everything "baby" that's left with David. (However, that's not much!) When I think too long about him, I well up. When I go to write a post about him, I well up. I can't help it! No one ever told me how much I would cry over my babies! Granted it's happy bitter sweet tears! Love these babies to pieces! Enjoy Ruby and Reyna..........they are so cute!
