Weekends fly by and Monday mornings I try to remember what the heck we did. This was the first weekend that we have all been home in almost a month. Last weekend, we were in Ludington, the week prior to that, Jade was kayaking up north and the weekend before that, well something was going on, but I cannot remember back that far. It felt so nice to just be home.
So, last week when my mom & dad came over for dinner, my dad ran into a shelf that
is was located in our main hallway near our front closet. It was kind of funny because he was like "
Leslie, you know I just ran into those shelves, again??" Awhile back, I had stuff on these shelves, but I have since removed the
crap stuff of of them, but left the shelves up due to major laziness. They didn't look awful there, but I wasn't loving them there. I knew if I removed them, it would require spackling, sanding and touching up the paint. I guess my mind frame has been,
"we are going to sell our house, so let's just leaving everything, as is for right now." My mind frame flip flopped over the weekend into, "
okay, we are going to be here a while, the housing market sucks, let's have some fun." Jade and I have actually been talking a lot lately about staying here. Gulp. Our house is a decent size. There are a few things (major) that we would need to do to this house to make it a long term house. We would definitely add a master bath with another walk in closet onto our bedroom. We have the room to do so. We would definitely add another bedroom and if we did stay here, we would gut the kitchen. Jade would make it so our kitchen would have a half wall, so it would be more of an open floor plan to the family room. There would be an island and pretty granite, stainless steel, lots of storage, a nice pantry, tile flooring and the list goes on...
can you tell I have been giving this a lot of thought? It has been on my mind ever since my poor dad knocked into those shelves. :) And, all of this pretty kitchen stuff is not happening soon. This would be a little ways down the road. But, a girl can still dream up her perfect kitchen plans, right?!
Anyway, my mom was here all day Sunday helping with the girls because was working his booty off with a family friend of ours putting in a new landscaping wall behind and on the side of the garage. It was a pretty big project because there was already a wall there, but it had to be removed. It was getting cruddy looking and starting to fall in a couple of spots. So before the new one was built, the old one had to be torn apart and removed. I am not talking Jade just went and purchased landscaping bricks and stacked them on top of each other...he is actually using mortar to hold them into place. He had some fancy schmancy level thingy majig here that beeps when everything is perfectly level. He meant busi-ness! :) While he was playing with mud and bricks, my mom & I were inside moving around pictures and hanging a couple new pieces. I have decided to re-paint the table in the kitchen. I picked up paint today and I am sooo excited to show you the end results. It's a purdy color if i do say so myself.
My next mission? I am going to take down all the pic's in the front room, move those pesky shelves that my dad loves oh-so-much into there and do some more re-arranging. After that? I just found a cabinet in my mom's basement that my mom said I could have as long as I supplied her with a bin to store the crap that is on it now. It will be painted and put into our bathroom for a linen storage, cabinet.
After the cabinet is in place, I have decided to try to make curtains for the girls' room. I am pretty excited about this and a little nervous at the same time. I may or may not have mentioned before, but I cannot cut a straight line to save my life. This project is going to be my tough one. But, I am pretty excited.
Keep you all posted with pic's and updates. Tomorrow, I am painting the table. Pictures to come. But for now, tell me this is not the cutest little sleeping booty you have ever seen?

Sounds overwhelming! Hopefully it will be mostly painless to do it in the future!
Love that shot, I just love sleeping babes!
Ruby is so cute. Lincoln sleeps just like that! Booty way up in the air.
J and I had the same conversation the other day. We know we are going to be in our house for a while, so what should we do to it.
You've been a busy little beaver! Can't wait to see the table.
Sounds like some fun projects are in the works! Can't wait to see pics! Take "before" and "after" shots! And yes, the little bum is adorable!!
