We had a great day celebrating Ruby's first birthday with family. It was gorgeous outside, unlike yesterday's monsoon or one of last week's hotter than haiti's days. I think Ruby had a lot of fun although, Reyna had quite a bit of fun, as well. By the time we opened gifts, Ruby was pretty tired and most of the time, she laid on the floor, drinking a bottle with her blankie. Reyna didn't mind helping Ruby with her new goodies.
I can honestly say this is the most stress free birthday we have ever hosted. I am so glad we chose to have just family. I had most of the food prepared the night before, my parents picked up the cupcakes ( I chickened out and ordered cupcakes) and the balloons on their way out, Jade helped with quite a bit to make the process go a lot smoother. When party time rolled around, everything was done. I was just waiting for everyone to show up. I need to post a few more pictures of her party. She wore the prettiest dress, but of course I took it off prior to cake. Post cake, Jade gave her a quick bath and we opted to put her into something a little easier to crawl in.
I will say this again, but I just cannot believe Ruby is 1. This past year flew by. Although it seems like yesterday she was born, I cannot remember life without her.
