Friday Night Leftovers-It's almost birthday time.

• Seriously? My baby is going to be a year? One? 12 months? Where has this past year gone? This is so bittersweet for me. Ruby is our baby. Our last baby.
• Okay, on a less tearful note. I have been pondering what to get her for her big day. It's different with the second, ya know? I am leaning towards baby Stella.  I think it would be fun for us to buy her, her first baby doll.
• We have opted to do a family only birthday party this year. We are having it at our house and 60 people was sounding stressful and overwelming. So, family it is.
• I am going back and forth between pizza with salad and bread to chicken salad on croissants, watermelon, chips and a few other sides. I think I am leaning towards chicken salad. It's healthier and it's a summerish food.
• Ruby should get her locks cut before her party. Her hair is outta control Jim Morrison style. It's hillarious. If I don't put it in some sort of pony tail or pig tail, it's everywhere. I look at it and just laugh. Now I just need to figure out a day to fit this in this week. My aunt is a hair dresser and I would prefer her to give the first hair cut.
• Folks, I am making the cake. I am slightly nervous about this considering I have decided to use fondant. I am planning on doing a test run of this schtuff over the weekend therefore, it will not be too late to contact Sam's bakery! We aren't doing a theme party, just pretty pastel colors. My vision of this so-called cake I am going to attempt, will be round with white fondant and pastel fondant polka dots. I am going to make Ruby a mini version for her to sink her little paws into. This, I cannot wait to see.
• Last, but not least, please pray for nice weather. I am hoping for a rain free day.
