I am winding down my last couple of weeks at work. Am I glad? Yes and no. I have realized that while I loved my job, I love my job as a mom even more. To be quite honest, it has been pretty hard to go into work at all the past month. I am only there ten hours per week. I don't have much to do anymore, except close out the office and tend to a few last minute things. When I am there, I am no longer challenged nor do I have the feeling that I am doing anything worth while. I am the only one who works with this particular program, so the rest of the people in my office/building are busy doing their jobs. Of course, they definitely feel for me that I am losing my job, but they are still busy and employed. :)
Losing my job has definitely been a blessing in disguise. While I was only working 25 hours per week, it has still made Jade & I realize that we would rather live w/out a few extras than having someone else watch the girls. I will say, it is far easier to go to work, sit at a desk & deal with adults instead of staying home with R&R, wiping noses, butts, dealing with tantrums, naps & cleaning after the tornado that hits my house on a daily basis. It's tiring, but worth it. So, for now, my two new bosses stand about 3.5 feet 2.5 feet, they are loveable and expect me to be on top of my game each and every day.
Speaking of being home more, I have quite a few projects going right now. I have been cleaning out the girls' clothes, purging quite a bit and packing away stuff to sell next year that we no longer use. Having two of the same sex makes life so much easier. I also started cleaning out the kitchen yesterday getting rid of tools, dishes and gadgets we no longer need. It is amazing how much kitchen crap we have! Luckily, I am passing some stuff on to Emilie so she will be well equipped to mince garlic or slice apples when she gets her own pad.
Speaking of the two bosses I have....
Despite having really nasty colds, all is well. Reyna would make me a very rich woman if I had a dollar for everytime she asks the infamous question, "why" throughout the course of the day. She is one curious little critter. She knows that Jade is excited for hunting season and she keeps telling us that she is going hunting. I am still not sure if she will be able to be quiet & still, but Jade is definitely willing to give it a try. She is definitely getting used to me being home, because she is less than thrilled when I make the attempt to leave the house to go anywhere (gasp) by myself. When I am not yelling at her for using vagisil cream as hand lotion, she is usually passing time by catching frogs, doing puzzles, painting or riding her bike. Have I mentioned this chick is full of life???
Ruby? Aww....Roobs. She is getting too big, too fast. I have recently learned that we only need to invest in large quantities of carefree mini pads to keep her happy as a clam. Forget all those fancy schmancy toys, this chick loves to tear apart the bathroom cupboards. I have given up picking it up time after time, because I know it will just get destroyed soon after. She loves holding onto our hands and walking thru the house. She has not attempted to stand alone yet, but she did manage to hike her leg over the tub tonight and topple onto the floor. Jade & I were standing right there, but we didn't think she would actually go thru with it. Oh, of course it was in slow motion. Nothing Ruby does is too fast. Jade did manage to catch her before hitting the tile floor. She did not get hurt. Well, besides maxi pads, she does love to play with Reyna's Dora scooter. She can climb onto hit, hold on tight and Reyna will wheel her around.
And that, my friends is what's new.

It sounds like the girls *love* having their mommy around :) I love seeing their pictures on here, they always look so sweet and full of mischief
I find the less I work... the less I "want" to work! Went from 40 to 20 hours... and I feel like I could easily go down to 10.... or less. :-))))) There is plenty of time to work someday should you choose... when the girls are in school, you could work a couple days while they are there.... good luck with the new bosses.... they sound like they are tough to work for! ;-)
too cute! I am sure you will enjoy the sahm role even more when the snow starts flying! Dragging the little ones out in the winter, ugh!!
The stories make me laugh & think back to when my 3 were smaller, ha! Feminine prods & non-toy items were always a huge hit!
