Ludington-Memorial weekend

Uhm, crazy hair?

Alayna & Reyna had a blast all weekend together.

Ruby had so much fun watching all the boats and seagulls.

Roobs showing off her chunky little thighs....

and her sassy little tude!

I could not believe she went in. It was freeeeezing.

I could have left her at the beach and picked her up at the end of summer. :) She is such a little beach babe.

For as long as Jade's parents have had their place in Ludington, we have been going up there for Memorial weekend. It gives us an extra day to hang out and all of their neighbors and neighbor's family are in town that weekend. Now that Reyna is getting older, there are quite a few kids her age (give or take a year or two) to play with, which makes things so much fun for her.

It was kind of a bummer Memorial weekend this year due to good ol' mother nature. The beach pictures? Yeah, they were taken the last day we were there. I didn't even take my camera out Saturday or Sunday. It wasn't worth it. We were cooped up all day Saturday going stir crazy due to an all day drizzle. Sunday was somewhat decent, but definitely not what we were looking forward to.

I did manage to sneak away on Sunday for a while by myself. I went downtown and browsed around and of course, picked up a delicious caramel apple from Kilwin's. I also picked up Reyna a Melissa & Doug puzzle of the solar system. She loves it! Plus, we have been talking a lot about the planets and I think it helps her somewhat understand.

I think to top our weekend off was the fact that Ruby slept awful. And when I say awful, this is an understatment. It felt like we had a newborn on our hands. After Friday night, I slept on the floor the rest of the weekend in random places thruought Jade's parents. I think the last time I slept on the floor anywhere was at a sleepover in elementary, maybe?? We made it thru out weekend with a lot of help from Starbuck's and let me tell you, our own bed was heaven the night we came home.

To end on a positive note, we enjoyed a fabulous dinner of fresh salmon Saturday night. It was so yummy. The guys didn't fish Monday morning, so they woke up and cooked a huge breakfast. Reyna played with all the neighbor kids and watching her made me realize how much she is growing. Monday, the guys went golfing and I took the girls to Lake Michigan with a friend of the family and her granddaughter, who are actually from Jackson, as well. Reyna & Alayna had such a blast together. Ruby? She was fine hanging out with her mama, as usual.

The beach pics are great. So jealous. I'm sorry that was the only good weather day. At least you got one good one.
Too bad about Ruby sleeping awful. That seems to always happen to me when we go somewhere with Jake too.
Thanks for sharing.

I can't wait to do the beach with Maggie. They looked like they had a blast. There is nothing like a bad sleeper.
