3 Things Thursday

1.) This was Ruby just a few minutes after she took a dive into our pond. I was in the garden picking weeds when I saw Ruby with a rock and I knew darn well what she was going to do with it. Last week, I discovered she had been throwing rocks into the pond. Of course, I was not thrilled. While I do understand it is probably fun for a 2 year old to mess around in a pond full of pretty orange fish, I do not let them. I let them feed the fish and Reyna is old enough to help me with it. Anyway....that rock Roobs had...yeah, I knew she was headed for the pond and even though I told her NO, she had other plans. I saw it coming. I started running when I saw her foot slip, but she went in head first. I dug my foot into the dirt and grabbed her out so fast. She scared the living crap out of me. I think that it scared her to the point where I think she learned a lesson, at least I pray that she did. Reyna got pretty upset because she wanted to make sure Ruby was okay, but then she asked, if Ruby killed the fish when she fell in. I explained to her that they were fine, but Ruby could have drowned and Reyna looked at me and looked at Ruby and said, "gosh, I would have missed you."  To top it off, I swaddled Ruby up after she fell in and she tripped and fell on the pavement and skinned up her chin pretty good. That is when Reyna went and found her a butterfly and a worm, because those two things make everything better. Later on after dinner and bath, I came in the living to find Reyna & Roobs deep in convo about whether or not Ruby had a chance to open her eyes while she was underwater. I never did hear her answer she gave to Reyna. I love their sisterly love.

2.) This mama is busting loose on Saturday! Woot! Miss Kaitlin (my brothers girlfriend) & I are going to a book signing in Detroit and then heading to the mall to do a little shopping. I am sure there will be some lunch involved and you know me....coffee! I cannot wait. Oh, we are going to meet the author Kelle Hampton who wrote, "Bloom." I have never been to a book signing before, so I am suuuuper excited. :)))) Pictures to follow.

3.)As I type this it is a little after 11:00. Guess who is still awake? Ruby. Guess who had a nap today? Ruby. I have not been giving her one because it keeps her up at night, but there are days she still needs one. Today was one of those days and now we are dealing with a child that is having a party in her room. I even woke her up from her nap. Ugh! I always dreaded the day she stopped taking naps.

I love your stories about the girls. I am glad you are with them when they have their moments. It will influence their life so much because you are there. Have fun @ the book signing.
