Five hundred twenty five thousand six hundred minutes...

The Rent theme song popped into my head when I was trying to add up how long I listened to "Looorie" today. It was about an hour 1/2 drive today to Detroit to visit Bobby, so we listened to Laurie over and over and over again. It kept Reyna content, so it was worth it. She went all day w/out a nap and NEVER fell asleep in the car. Seriously, what child doesn't sleep in the car when they're tired?! Mine, of course. We picked up Bobby from school and headed down to Greektown for lunch.
Afterwards, we froze our fannies off walking to the Astoria Pastry Shop. I had heard of this place from someone several years ago. It was delicious! I walked in and just about died looking at everything. I had the hardest time choosing. I finally settled with four peanut clusters, a mini key lime pie, chocolate mousse and a slice of white chocolate decadent cake. Yes, this is what happens when a pregnant chick visits somewhere like this. I know, I ended up with quite a bit. They are all so beautiful and perfect, I hate to even take a bite. So far, I have "sampled" the mousse. It's in a mini cup, topped with whipped cream and shaved dark chocolate. I am telling you, this place was sinful. It was sooo worth the walk.

We said goodbye to Bobby, drove a little ways and stopped @ Barnes & Noble for a potty break. We browsed a little, picked out a new book for Reyna, ordered a machiato and scrambled out of there just a minute too late. Reyna threw the biggest tantrum I have witnessed thus far. It was awful. I told her it was time to go and that mommy needed to pay. She found a high school musical book (just a little too old for her, right??:)) on the shelves that had buttons that made noises. She wanted "this one." I told her I had picked out a book for her and it was time to go.
She wasn't too thrilled with my answer, started crying and when I went to pick her up, threw herself on the ground and started screaming. Mind you, the atmosphere was quiet with fellow shoppers reading and sipping their coffee in peace. It was quite the scene. I still had to pay, so my mom rushed Reyna out of the store. In her defense, she was tired. It was 3:30 in the pm and she was working on no nap.
So, we are home. With our desserts. Oh, I forgot the shopping part of the day. Before picking up Bobby, we stopped @ Macy's. I have been hunting for tall black boots. I found some!!! What do you think? Of course, we found Reyna several things. It's so much easier to shop for her especially since I am pregnant. I bought her a pair of denim capris that button on the sides and two shirts to match. My mom bought her the plaid capris that match the shirt and a cardigan to match. I tried to find it online to show you, but I couldn't find it. They are really cute and springy though.
Well, that was our day. It was a very good day. Reyna really enjoyed seeing her Uncle Bobby.

OOOH I really like those boots! I need a new pair of brown Nine Wests. I found a pair on their website just like those but "ankle" (...more like calf height...I prefer that to the taller ones) but of course the height ones I like are only available in 9.5 GRR

I can't believe your brother is so big. I remember when I would come over and play at your house. I swear he was.... 4 or 5.
Glad to hear you had a great trip.
