Baby stuff, washers and everything in between

Once again, haven't blogged in FOREVER! It's only 8 and I could fall asleep right here at the computer desk. I would, if I didn't hear the lovely sound of a knocking coming from Reyna's room. I put her to bed @ 7 and she is still awake. She's exhausted, but fighting it. Most of the evening, she has not been herself. I don't think I have ever heard her whine so much in my entire career of mommyhood. This isn't something I care to deal with everyday either. Her molars are coming thru, so there is her valid excuse, I guess.

  • It has been a screwy week. Today, Jade was off during the day (is working tonight) and I had today off, too. It felt weird running errands during the day and just hanging out at home for the rest. When I am out and about, I always see couples together during the day and wonder why they aren't at work. We were that couple today. It was kind of nice. Everything went well at the doctor. The stats are too depressing to type twice, so if you are interested, head on over to our baby blog!
  • I am extremely looking forward to next weekend. Not this upcoming, but the following. Jade and I are going on a date! We are seriously overdue for this. It has been a while since we went out and I cannot wait to sleep in the morning. Briarwood will also be on our list of stops, as well. :)
  • I am starting to feel slightly ready for this baby to come. Today, we stopped and purchased this beast of a machine. The best part? Our insurance covered it. I guess it pays to ask. I have also restocked our supply of baby washcloths, baby bottles and I am stopping @ Toy House tomorrow for a few things we need to replace. Oh, and I stopped @ Kohl's yesterday with my 30% coupon in hand and I couldn't pass up a couple of outfits for baby. I bought two boy and two girl. I am pretty sure two out of the four will be joining us at the hospital to be used as our take home outfits. They are simple, yet cute. I still need to clean out Reyna's closet, do a little organizing and some shuffling around and haul down our carseat and a few other baby items to make everything "official."
  • Still listening to Reyna knock on her door..Go to sleep little one!
  • We camped last weekend....I have a few pic's and many stories, but I'll save that for another post that you will probably see next year sometime. Just kidding. Maybe. :)
  • What kind of washer/dryer brand do you have? Two nights ago, our washer decided to take a crap on us. Did I mention it is only 5 years old? The service man came out today only to report that it is going to be a whopping 300 bucks to fix! They don't make stuff like they used to, do they? I guess 5 is the new 30. Anyway. I would love to hear what brand you have and if you like it or not.

There you have it. That pretty much sums up what's been going on.

We seem to be 'that' couple during the summertime. As Tony is a school teacher and has the summers off, and I only work Thurs,Fri, Sat nights, it seems to work out that we are out and about during the day. LOL!

I didnt know that insurance could cover breast pumps!! Thats awesome!! How much of it did it pay for? I of course already have one, I bought an Aveda when I was BFing Lukas. I actually just bought this cute Thermos cooler bag from Target today (brown w/ blue strips) in the camping area for to use at work. I can just use my own phalanges here at work and use the pump up in L&D, its for employees!

I also have just washed 2 loads of baby clothes today, went through all of Lukas' old clothes up to 12 months and sorted what I wanted to keep.

And as for our washer/dryer, we dont have anything fancy-smancy. We bought a basic Whirlpool set from Sears, for about $350 a piece. We bought it 5 years ago and am still happy with it. I sure hope it lasts. Good luck in finding one!

I love running errands during the work week. It's definitely less busy, there's less traffic, etc. I seem to get a lot more accomplished during those days!

My washer and dryer set have been in storage for the last couple of years, but like LeeAnn, it's a Whirlpool set that I got pretty cheap. It worked really well.

I can't believe how close you are getting to meeting Baby #2! I can't wait to hear about his/her arrival!

Hubby and I are THAT couple . . . he is usually on-call on the weekend, and thus off during the week one or two days, and I used to work weekend nights - it is so nice to run errands when the stores aren't so crowded, as well as to go to places like the zoo without wall-to-wall people.

We have Kenmore HT3s, and I LOVE them! The washer is a front loader, and while they were a bit pricey, they are worth every dime! Less water, less energy to run, and I swear on my grandmother's grave that the clothes come out cleaner. We bought through Sears when they were running a deal (which they seem to be running quite often these days) - %15 off, free delivery, and a payment plan that kept us from having to drop a lot of money right away. With the amount of laundry I do for the kids, it is awesome!

holy crap! You must have some kick butt insurance! I'm going to ask just for the heck of it now- last pregnancy I wanted a medela SO BAD! But my insurance is horrible... I can't even get an in office ultrasound :(

Oh and Maeve does the thumping and bumping around just about every night- I'm pretty sure she lays on her back and just pounds the headboard of her crib with her heels. nice.

oh- forgot to add- we got cheapo whirpool washer/dryer right after our wedding and they're still doing great :) I think each one was about 250-300.

That's very cool you have the insurance to cover the pump! I've heard really great things about that one. That's the one I wanted, but I settled for the single Medela one instead. Does the job! :)

Our washer is a Whirpool. We have had a few problems with it leaking , but it is OK now. Our dryer is a Kenmore. It is at least 20+ years old and still does an awesome job. If the company hasn't changed hands (like they do all the time), I am sold on Kenmore (Sears)! My parents have had their Kenmore w/d for about 15 years and they are still doing great too. My MIL has had about 4 Maytag appliances (2 are a washer/dryer) and has had nothing but problems with them.

My insurance also covered that pump. I love it. 8 minutes and I am done on both sides. I love my washer and dryer. I have a front loader LG the red ones. I can do so much wash. I LOVE THEM.
