I wish I had a better recap of mother's day with pictures and such, but that is not the case. My battery for my camera blew up and I still haven't ordered a new one. Therefore, I haven't been using my camera because it is almost dead! Bleh.
I will say despite not having heat in my house, mama's day was wonderful. The whole weekend was. I tried to put aside everything else going on aside and have a good time.
Friday, Bobby graduated from Wayne State with his engineering degree. I must say, I was quite the proud sister. For some crazy reason, I got his graduation screwed up and told Jade the wrong day, as well. In the end, he couldn't make it because he had not scheduled time off of work. Which, was totally my fault. Which, I must be infamous for forgetting dates, because when I graduated college, I told my dad the wrong date and he scheduled a golf trip around the date he thought it was. Well, needless to say, he was not at my graduation. I told him the wrong date, too. I have a planner, I swear. :) I took the girls and I must say they were fab-u-lous. They sat thru graduation, they were good thru our lunch. It was just all in all, a great day. We ended up celebrating his graduation at a place called, Sinbads. Mmmm...as I type this, I can still taste the melted butter that came with my lobster tails. Lunch was sooo yummy and it was even more delicious since my ladies were good for me.
Saturday, we dropped the girls off at my parents house bright and early and headed to Lansing. Jade played in a tennis match at Michigan State and I was his cheering section. :) After the match, we headed to Meridian Mall to one of my oh-so-favorite stores. Jade spoiled me with my mama's day present. I must have been a good mama this year. Let me tell you, the coffee is fabulous with this machine. Jade couldn't understand why we needed another coffee maker, but now every morning he contemplates what type of brew he will be having. :) He's so cute. After Macy's, we headed to Meijer to buy pretty much an entire fridge full of crap that we lost last week. I don't think my bill at Meijer has ever been so large. It was crazy. Saturday night, I was invited over to Ashley's house for a spa party. I have been kind of down in the dumps, so this was just what I needed. We talked, enjoyed 30 minute massages, ate delicious food and laughed until I thought I was going to pee my pants. No, really.
Sunday, we lounged around (still no heat) until it was time to head to brunch with my parents, grandparents and uncle. Afterwards, we spent the rest of the day at my parents. Jade's mom was with his sister at a show, so we saw her Monday. Oh, my mom and dad bought me a beautiful pot of gerber daisies. I cannot wait to enjoy them outside. :) Right now, they are in. It has been freeeeezing here in Michigan. Oh, just a cute tidbit of the weekend. So, Friday at the graduation, Reyna kept seeing the mylar balloons. Well, my dad promised her one. So, Saturday when we dropped the girls off, my dad took Reyna shopping for a balloon. She ended up picking a green star one (her current fave color) and a flowery one that says Happy Mothers Day. All weekend, she kept telling me, "happy valentines day, mama." It was so sweet.
Despite everything else, it was a great weekend. I tried to put everything else on the back burner.
Yesterday, we had a new furnace with central air installed. It's great because we will be getting the 1500 tax credit next year for this bad boy. I also purchased a new computer, which has a huge monitor and a slim little modem. I have yet to take it out of the box. Plus, we purchased a new printer, which has wireless on it. Our washer and dryer were also delivered yesterday. So, yes it was nice to get new stuff, but just imagine all these people (2 delivery men and 3 electricians) tromping thru my home while it is a monsoon outside. I had towels down to try to catch some of the mud. I was going crazy! It was definitely testing my patience. Our new water softener was installed today, so I am anxiou to go home and see that.
Overall, everything is getting back to normal. Looking back, I cannot believe we were w/out heat for a week. Oh, I did forget to mention, we had a tree cleaning party on Monday. I cannot believe all the people that were nice enough to come over and give us a hand. It was really really nice of you all. We greatly appreciate all of you. :)
As for the girls? They are doing well. Miss Reyna is still refusing to take off her nightgown. She stays in a nightgown all day, everyday. It is just not worth the battle, you know?! I am excited to announce that she has been pooping on the potty like a champ! We are so stinkin' proud of her. Ruby? Well, she has been all over the place. Crawling like a little wounded solider. She is pretty much refusing baby food and loves to eat what we are eating. Sleeping? Well, I am not going to say. I wouldn't want to jinx it! :)
To be continued....

Glad to hear things are getting back to normal and horray for a graduation!
Hope things get settled soon!
Here's to getting your normal life back soon.
Oh my word I forgot about you telling your dad your wrong graduation date! You dork!
Think on the bright side.... at least it wasn't the dead of winter that you were without heat.
Awesome to get all that new stuff.... what a great selling point to add to your house listing too. Sounds like this week could have been a blessing in disguise. You'll be busy the next few weeks learning all your new gadgets!
If you need a camera to borrow I have my old one hanging around here you can borrow. It does have an Auto setting if you're intimidated by all the dials LOL! Its not getting used, so if you want to borrow it let me know! I have a charger and extra batteries for it.
AHHHH! You definitely needed that spa night with all this craziness! I am overwhelmed just reading your post! You poor girl :(
-I just have to add in- of COURSE this would happen RIGHT when it gets freezing cold here! Like if this was going to happen, why not when it was in the 60/70s???
I really hope dinner works tomorrow night! We need to talk:)
life back on the track to normal :)
Spa night sounds fantastic! You should come out this way and help us set one up with everyone in this area :) After all that stress you definitely deserve a little more relaxation.
Happy to hear things getting back to normal, and the girls sound like they are doing great! Just be careful with the weather today, it does not look pretty out in this area. Take care of you!
