Friday Night Leftovers.-The "Yes, it's been a while" edition.

  • I have not updated. My poor neglected blog. With Jade's grandpa, life and everything else, I haven't had the energy. Plus, nothing going on feels like it deserves a single post? Little things here and there are happening, but nothing is worthy of it's very own post...or so it feels like. I think that is the lazy side of me talking!
  • My mom & I ventured to Milford last Sunday for a girls day with Kristin and her mom, Kim. We started with lunch in downtown Milford @ The Milford House. It was very delicious. And after our ymmy lunch, we headed to Twelve Oaks for a little shopping. I treated myself to a bottle of Philosophy lotion, Amazing Grace. Oh, my. Have you smelled this? It is a little pricey for a bottle of lotion, but the way it makes my arms feels and smell, it is sooooo worth it. Do you use any products by Philosophy? If so, what. I would love to hear! I also found a pair of black Anne Klein flats from Macy's. I scored a pretty decent deal on the shoes, which justified my lotion! Overall, we had a fabulous day and I look forward to our next day out with Kristin and Kim.
  • Tuesday was my birthday and I am officially, "29 and holding." We went to The Beach Bar with my parents, brother & Em, Jades mom and dad, Grandma, Aunt Mollie & John and my Grandma. The food was good and the company was even better! I am excited to put my Target gift card & birthday money to good use. There are a couple of things that I have been needing/wanting....new pajamas, a light for my Kindle and a few things for the house. Oh, Jade and the girls bought me a beautiful Vera travel jewelry box. It was something I had been wanting for a while, but it was our last camping trip when I stuck a piece of my expensive jewelry in the microwave to store it that I knew I needed an alternative method. It arrived yesterday and I cannot wait to put it to good use.
  • The girls and I are really enjoying the weather. We have been going to the park, taking walks, going to the pool quite a bit. This morning we went over to my midwive/friend/Laura's house. She lives just a few minutes from us and has organic eggs and chicken. The girls enjoyed her turkeys, baby chicks, the big trampoline and we ended up blackberry picking while we were there. Laura let Reyna go gather up the eggs from the chicken coop. She thought that was pretty neat.  My little ladies could handle farm life w/out a problem.
  • We are grilling @ my parents tomorrow. My brother and I are 4 years and 1 week apart so we are having a birthday cookout. Shiskabobs. My fave.
  • I know I have not mention this since I have not blogged lately, but Ruby has been throwing things away again. She went thru this phase a while ago, but she is at it again. A few days ago, I found the phone and the mouse pad. If she is done with her food, she will throw away her bowl. I found her shoes and skirt in there yesterday. Oh, let's not forget ALL of the pieces to the fridge phonics that were at the BOTTOM of the garbage. Ugh!
  • Two nights ago, I made homemade tomato sauce from Annie's Eats. It was suuuper yummy. I liked how it was light and simple to make. I definitely recommend it.
I think this about sums up the haps around our house. Your turn! If you want more leftovers, head on over to Sippy Cups are Not for Starbucks.

I have a bottle of red velvet cake Philosophy body wash from Christmas time that I am in LOVE with, and a bottle of Sugar Cookie philosophy lotion. I keep meaning to get some more summery scent but haven't made it to Twelve Oaks yet this summer. My grandma lives right around the corner from there!
