20 Question Christmas Survey

Will this get me out of my blogging funk? Let's hope. You know how it is time time of year. My time and energy are going to everything BUT documenting  life right now.

I am swiping this from Danifred over @ Sippy Cups are not for Starbucks.


1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Mostly wrapping paper. The girls stuff is all wrapped by our local toy store. They wrap for free, which is awesome for me. I do use a few gift bags for gift cards.

2. Real tree or Artificial? Real this year!!!! This is the first year we have had a real tree since we have been married. We have always had an artificial and I have always hated the one we had. Jade finally broke down and agreed to a real tree. I always had a real one growing up.



3. When do you put up the tree? The first or second weekend in December. I REFUSE to decorate until December. I cannot get into the Christmas mood until then. It went up a little earlier this year, because Reyna was ready to put it up and start decorating the house.





4. When do you take the tree down? I am a Grinch, I take the tree down the day after Christmas. Isn't that awful??? I am such a clutter free person, I cannot wait to have my house back to normal again. Well, as normal as it can get around here, that is. :)



5. Do you like eggnog? Blech!



6. Favorite gift received as a child? My baby alive doll and my green leather coat



7. Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, I have the Willow Tree one. And for the safety of it, I left it in the box this year. I cannot tell you how many Christmas bulbs have been destroyed by a certain two year old already. Luckily, all of our nice ornaments are the top where she cannot reach.





8. Hardest person to buy for? Jades parents.





9. Easiest person to buy for? The girls, of course.



10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail. I am still deciding whether to do them this year or not.



11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Hmmm...I cannot think of anything right now.





12. Favorite Christmas Movie? National Lampoons Christmas Vacation



13. When do you start shopping for Christmas?  December.





14. Ever recycled a Christmas present? Nope.



15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? My parents make prime rib Christmas day and I also like waking up Christmas morning and having dough balls while the girls open their gifts. I look forward to both every year!



16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? White lights.



17. Favorite Christmas song? O' Holy Night



18. Travel at Christmas or stay home? We stay home, but travel local to our parents house.





19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Yep.



20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Nothing this year. I need to find something the day after Christmas.




21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? We open gifts with Jades parents Christmas eve, but everything at our house gets opened Christmas morning. Later in the day, we head to my parents to open more gifts.





22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? There is a lot I cannot stand about this time of year. People forget what this time of year is about. I was recently talking to someone and when I asked her if she was done shopping for another relative of ours, she said no. She decided to buy more because she found what this person wanted, but she found it on sale. That is not what this time of year is about. We just need to stop and remember it is not about draining our bank accounts and racking up our credit cards.



23. Favorite ornament, theme, or color? Our tree is covered in mostly Hallmark ornaments. This year, it is kind of a mess. The girls like to redecorate it daily. There are a few ornaments I did not unpack. Ruby is into everything, so there is a lot at the top and not much at the bottom. Oh, well. :)


24. What do you want for Christmas this year? Really?? There are a few things I have my eye on, but if I don't get them, then whatev. The girls are SO excited for Christmas. That is what I am excited for.
